Jul-26-11  Nightsurfer: JULIAN GROETZBACH is the new whizz kid in the prestigious HAMBURGER SCHACHKLUB VON 1830 (HSK). JULIAN GROETZBACH has achieved a very nice performance during the German Youth Championship U-14 in 2010, to name one example: http://www.dem2010.de/turnier/u14/s... , and there are many experts who predict that JULIAN GROETZBACH will soon become as strong as JAN GUSTAFSSON who is the current big star who has been a product of the SCHOOL of the prestigious HSK von 1830, please check out the page Jan Gustafsson here at Chessgames.com!
Feb-21-13  Nightsurfer: The 17-years-old <Julian Groetzbach> has actually become an author for ChessBase - by explaining (being congenially supported by his brother Daniel) to us ignorants the mysteries of the Bishop's Sacrifice on h7 ... no kidding, if you do not believe that, then you can check it out here: http://chessbase-shop.com/de/author... ... so you'd better rush before the stuff is sold out!
Feb-21-13  Refused: Dude, seriously?

Julian is 2.000 something now ratingwise, and you decided to publish a game from four years ago when he was rated what 1700? Ofc a game you won against him... :)

Feb-21-13  Nightsurfer: <Refused> Hey Dude, why not?! What is the problem with that?! That game R Gralla vs J Groetzbach, 2009 has actually become a historic document - due to the unstoppable rise by <Julian Groetzbach>. Therefore that game is precious - and that game will even become more precious when that kid will eventually become Champion of the World ... or German Champion at least!

Never forget: You have to accept your past when you want to win the future!

BTW, since the kid is supposed to be that strong, so there will soon pop up here in the data bank a series of wins by <Julian Groetzbach>, on the occasion of the Olympics or the Aeroflot Open or so, you can bet on that ... ;-) ... and then the game R Gralla vs J Groetzbach, 2009 will become even more entertaining, as a funny little episode starring a young genius in the making!

Feb-21-13  Nightsurfer: Hey <Refused>, talking of a young genius in the making ... just have a look at the clip when <Julian Groetzbach> and his brother explain a game that Frank James Marshall has won by executing the Bishop's Sacrifice on h7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey0H... ... stunning stuff, in particular when the Groetzbach Brothers generously concede to the legendary Frank James Marshall that he has demonstrated <"... great understanding of chess ..."> ... Frank James Marshall will quite certainly love to hear that whilst cruising The Heavens up there on his cloud ...
Feb-21-13  Refused: Sorry, but you did not beat the next Gusti. Gusti was already playing on one of the top boards a league higher when he was younger than Groetzbach was. Groetzbach might get to the level of Jule Zimmermann or Hannes Langrock, or Dirk Sebastian. Which is still pretty strong, but I don't see him making it to GM. Jonas Lampert is a better pick for future GM from the HSK youngsters. One year younger and 200 points heavier, but I also see him more on a good IM level than GM level in the future.
Feb-21-13  Nightsurfer: <Refused> Who knows, life's full of surprises!
