MALCOLM SIM
(born Nov-06-1881, died Dec-23-1956, 75 years old) United Kingdom (federation/nationality Canada)

[what is this?]
Malcolm is remembered as a tournament director and arbiter for the New York state chess association and others. Born in the United Kingdom, he moved to Canada in 1906 via the port of Montreal and shortly afterwards, he saw Jacques Mieses give a simul on Yonge street in Toronto where he soon took residence with his family. The 1915 Toronto city champion drew Jacques Mieses in a November simul, won the Canadian postal championship in 1918 and placed 4th in the Canadian championship of 1922. He edited the Toronto Globe as early as 1910 and Toronto Telegram during 1922-56, along with other publications shortly before the 1920s.
