OhioChessFan: It's very nice that Mr. and Mrs. Garry gave their son the middle name "Kasparov" in honor of the best chess player ever. Who exactly is Crumiller?

Mar-22-11  theagenbiteofinwit: John Garry might get a little respect on the playground with his name, but poor Rajko was probably just called Short Nigel by everybody.

perfidious: Don't know whether this is the same guy, but I lost to a Jonathan Crumiller in the prelims of the 13th US Correspondence Championship, as he went on to win the section.

northernfox: <perfidious> I think it is probably <Jon Crumiller> a well known chess collector and occasional player. See below:

Dec-27-13  Jonmeista: Hello all, I saw this link in the statcounter for my website, so I came to this page and saw the comments! Alan Shaw, good to make your acquaintance again. Our correspondence game was very hard-fought. I spent hours on every move (of every game in that section.) Incidentally, I declined my place in the Finals because it was becoming obvious that some players were using chess engines, and I couldn't compete against that.
Mar-15-21  Z 000000001: Obviously <Jonmeista> == <Jon Crumiller>, a person we all can thank for digging out many (all?) of Staunton's ILN articles on <chessreference.com>.

He certainly deserves his own page here on <CG>, so let's cite this other game of his:

As the source points out, Carlsen missed forcing the advantageous Q-xchg at move 34, and really blundered bad at move 44, where he let Black draw.

Mar-15-21  Z 000000001: Appendum - It's either Jonathan or Jon, but definitely not John afaik.
Mar-15-21  Z legend of CG: Also, thanks to <OCF '11> for digging out the game.
