Master Norms and Awards
<Candidate Master> Awarded for his result at the World School Boys U9 Championship in 2007.
<FIDE Master> Awarded for his win of the European U10 Championship in 2008.
<International Master> (1) Ali Marandi won his first IM award at the 18th Troy Open held at the Canakkale Festival in Turkey in August 2010, scoring 7/9, half a point above the requisite he needed for the norm. His second norm came at the Angora Tournament in Ankara in March 2011, where he scored the requisite 6.5/10. His third IM norm resulted from his requisite 4.5/10 result at the 3rd Kahraman Olgac Memorial held in Izmir in Turkey in May 2011. Ali Marandi did not gain his IM title until 4 July 2013 when he defeated Mishra Swayams in round six of the 2013 Turkish Club Cup. At the time he was 15 years 5 months and 17 days.
Championships
<Age> European U10 champion 2008 (earning FM title), European U12 champion 2010, European U14 champion 2011 and =4th (7th on tiebreak) in the 2011 U14 World Championship. European U16 Champion 2014 and European U18 Champion 2015.
<National> 7.5/10 in the 2012 Turkish Chess Championship.
<Continental> he scored his 4th IM norm at the 13th European Individual Championship (2012), also adding 28.5 rating points.
Team Events
He played 2nd board on the Turkey 2016 team at the Istanbul Olympiad (2012), scoring 4.5/10, including 4 draws and a loss against his 5 GM opponents.
