  GrahamClayton: CIVIL WAR?

READERS may become slightly bewildered in seeing two announcements of the Southern Chess Association Championship in this issue of CHESS LIFE. The tournament in Tampa is announced by SCA Secretary-Treasurer Major J. B. Holt who states he has the concurrence of SCA Vice-President Grady Cotter and S. A. Agnello. The tournament at Asheville is announced by SCA President Martin Southern. CHESS LIFE does not presume to determine which announcement to be accepted as the official will of the Southern Chess Association, for it is the authority and privilege of the members of that Association to determine these facts according to whatever regulation govern such tournaments in their official By-Laws. Therefore we publish impartially both announcements and leave decision to the SCA membership."
