Phony Benoni: I have a player <Ziad Baroudi> from the 1966 US Open, living in California, and rated 2216.

The player on this page, still active almost fifty years later, is given as <Ziad A Baroudi> on the USCF MSA page, http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTn.... Rating is only 1924, but his floor appears to be 1900.

I'm inclined to think it's the same person, with the rating drop-off due to age (he'd be around 70 now). Any more information out there?

Jan-31-18  MarkBuckley: I first played Ziad A. Baroudi in Sacramento in 1973. He was always at least high expert strength, a sharp tactician. The Sacramento Chess Club site has him playing as late as 2010 with a ~1900 rating and middle initial still "A."
