perfidious: First cousin to Carmen Sandiego?
Jun-28-19  Granny O Doul: My great-grandfather wanted to give my grandmother the middle name of Marie-Antoinette but apparently the baptismal priest, or whoever was in charge, would not, because they weren't saint's names (of course, "Marie" is just "Mary" and neither is the Hebrew or Aramaic form, but I'm just reporting here), so she went off officially as "(Ellen) Mary Anthony".

There actually was a Marie-Antoinette (Hanisset) among the Blessed Martyrs of Compiègne, but she is not a saint, or at least, not recognized as such yet. But the Catholic doctrine says that a saint is always a saint and it's only a question of when if ever one is recognized as such. That's why they are able to revoke the sainthood of people who have been dead for hundreds of years. So should Miss Hanisset ever receive her due I'm going down to that parish to see that my grandmother's name is corrected.
