|Apr-20-05|| ||PivotalAnorak: I checked on the FIDE site, Petursson is a GM (even though it seems he doesn't play anymore, just like other Icelandic GM's, like Johann Hjartarson for instance). |
|Apr-20-05|| ||Halldor: He is a lawyer and active on the stock-market. He still plays occasionally in tournaments, mostly blitz for the fun. Very solid strategical player. |
|Dec-29-05|| ||smeagol2005: Peturson is surely a great Icelandic chess player!
|Jan-04-06|| ||karlth: Petursson was always an extremely solid strategic player - who I always felt should have come from the Soviet chess school.|
He rarely plays publicly today but is an extremely successful investment banker: http://www.mp.is/english/

|Feb-15-10|| ||xenophon: <He rarely plays publicly today but is an extremely successful investment banker> probably wishes he stuck to chess now|
|Sep-11-10|| ||OhioChessFan: I guess his best friends Fanny and Freddie have taken care of him.|
|Apr-06-12|| ||wordfunph: the one and only book he wrote - King's Indian Defence Averbakh Variation published by Cadogan..|

|Oct-19-15|| ||Conrad93: Ah, Petursson. The Averbakh specialist.
This guy has some impressive games with the line.
And he's played against both Karpov and Kasparov in their prime. Not many can say that.
