 | | Tabanus: I have to leave this event as a restoration object. I've sorted the players according to final standings. Some observations: Vidarsson vs Jon Arnason 0-1 (rd 3) is missing. Several games must have switched colors, for example Einarsson should have 6,5 points (not 4.5). Gurevich got 7.5 points, and the game J Vidarsson vs M Gurevich, 1988 (rd 1) was a draw (after adjournment) according to several Icelandic newspapers. Instead there is a game score where white is mated. In Tisdall vs H Einarsson, 1988 it was Einarsson who won. And so on. |

 | | Tabanus: The Reykjavik Open 1988 was from 23 Feb to 6 March. On 7 March there was a blitz tournament with many of the same players. Apparently some games from this blitz event has entered the databases as "Reykjavik Open" and then been given new dates. Also J Arnason vs K Thorsteins, 1988 does not belong here. Utter crap. On a positive note, I believe Akureyri (1988) (9-21 March) is now correct, after I removed the games of 1994 from it. |
