May-30-08  whiteshark: Well, this is Bass, but Hoo is Drum ?
May-30-08  Harvestman: With a FIDE rating of over 2400, <Bass> is clearly no fish.
May-30-08  kackhander: indeed, the tenor of his play is on a higher scale alto-gether.
Jul-29-09  NOKRO: Wonder how the games would go with `Kasparov dog' playing against this `Fish'.
Jul-29-09  whiteshark: <Bass, Bass, wir brauchen Bass> -- das Bo
Jul-29-09  Eastfrisian: Sieh an, sieh an.. und ich dachte immer whiteshark ist nicht aus Deutschland. A Fronke is er, wie mei Schwoger, derweil ich so was vonne Küste komm.
Jul-29-09  whiteshark: <Eastfrisian> Schon vergessen?

--> Hanna Erenska-Barlo Mit sonnigen Grüßen vom Weserstrand :D

Jul-30-09  Eastfrisian: Ja, man wird alt.
May-30-10  wordfunph: IM Leonid Bass is the author of the book "Trends in the King's Indian with g3"..
Dec-30-13  Howard: Met him twice in the mid-1980's....seemed like a friendly guy.

We both lived in Wisconsin at one time, and then (coincidentally) we both moved to Ohio at about the same time. Met him in Wisconsin and then a couple years later in Ohio !

FSR: I played him twice in the early '80s, losing both times not surprisingly - though he said I had been doing well in both of them. I knew his sister Elena too. He did play like a fish in L Karlsson vs L Bass, 1983 (1-0, 12). It's funny how his first four games in the database consist of losses to Vladimorov and Day, followed by short draws against the same players. He has two other games against Vladimirov in the database, both drawn.
Feb-21-16  Howard: So, what is he doing now ? I think he moved to France, if I remember right.
Mar-16-25  Nosnibor: You can`t beat a good glass of Bass.
