Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-22-25  Petrosianic: He's had the pleasure of being reported for cheating by Kramnik himself.

On the other hand, who hasn't?

Apr-22-25  Petrosianic: In the first video, Kramnik and Tykhon are talking over each other at the end, with both unintelligible. In this one you can see Kramnik's argument. That the <only> suspicious move in the game was in this position where Black played ...d4.

It's a fairly simple (for a titled player) line-clearing pawn sacrifice. Black's Knight wants to use d5, so he vacates it with tempo. 1. ...d4 2. cxd4 Nd5! is painful for White.

In the end, Black doesn't even play Nd5 because White plays Nxd4 instead of cxd4, which amounts to a trade of Black's d pawn for White's f pawn, and open lines. The game is still equal for now, but White is clearly on the defensive, as he has been throughout the game.

But according to Kramnik, he couldn't have found d4 even in a classical game. He's either kidding himself, or his strength has declined dramatically.
