  fredthebear: How to draw a K, R & N vs K & R ending: https://chesschest.com/why-did-all-...

1) Generally, your king must avoid getting forked by a N+ or skewered by a R+, and beware of the opposition of kings on the edge of the board.

2) Repeatedly R+ the stronger opposing K from behind the K. This could possibly lead to a three-fold repetition of the position.

3) Pin the interposing N to its K, and then make a waiting move on the file/rank to maintain the pin (when a check is not available).

4) Avoid this box checkmate position:

Otherwise, there's little drama on the video. Perhaps some communication difficulty at the end, but no apparent violation.

This type of draw would fall under the 50-move rule: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty...

Traditionally, without an electronic board, each player would keep their own written scoresheet to prove that fifty consecutive moves had been played without a capture or pawn move. (Meaning the count starts anew whenever the last capture or pawn move is played.)

When no increment is in place to allow for continuous recording and time is running below 5 minutes remaining, request that the arbiter keep count of the moves. Also, a bystander suitable to the arbiter may keep a scoresheet of the game for the purpose of claiming a draw. https://chessllermo.com/chess/score...

Of course, the two players may agree to a draw at any time during the game. The player offering the draw should have the move/running clock. Otherwise, be quiet and still when the opponent's clock is running, or leave the table.

1/2-1/2
