In the 10th European Individual Women Championship (Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2009) Grabuzova scored a nice victory over the reigning European women chess champion Kateryna Lagno.

In 2009, Lagno opened a new chapter in her life: after keeping it secret from all but the family circle she married Robert Fontaine, French grandmaster and well-known TV reporter for the French chess magazine Europe Echecs and moved to France.

She particiated in the next European Individual Women Chess Championship in Russia and her husband was reporting from this tournament. Her result was disappointing, she lost ten Elo points.
