GrahamClayton: There is a 39 year gap between games in the database, from 1928 to 1967. Is this the same player?
Dec-26-08  Calli: Yes, I believe it is the same player. He played in many Italian events not in the DB. See http://xoomer.alice.it/cserica/scac...
Mar-09-22  Mario Ostilio: @Jim Bartle He drew with a reigning world champion (Petrosian). Could you say the same of yourself?
Mar-10-22  areknames: <He drew with a reigning world champion (Petrosian)> Yes, and then he easily dispatched GM Janosevic in the same tournament and a few years later famously defeated rising star Mariotti (who was more than 40 years his junior!) who of course would become Italy's first GM. In his youth he managed to hold the likes of Tartakower, Yates and Colle to a draw. A life-long amateur yet a formidable player whose competetive career spanned almost half a century.
