Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-10-19  Nosnibor: John Henshaw passed away suddenly on the 17th June 2018 at the age of 74 years. He ailed from Halifax,Yorkshire and came to prominence as a player in 1972 when he won the Churchill Memorial with a massive 7points out of seven games. I was one of his victims. The same year he also won the Sussex Championship. In 1979 he finished second in the Major Open and also won the Brighton Club Championship 3 times. His highest grading was 212 and after 1980 he sees to have retired from playing outside events and just concentrated on local league matches. R.I.P.John

woldsmandriffield: There should be some JC Henshaw wins on this page.

Here is a brisk victory from the 1980 British Championship played in John C. Henshaw's adopted home town. I was there the day the game was played and recall it being featured on the demonstration board. "There's some good stuff around" was the concluding comment of the commentator.
