Penguincw: Congrats to IM Vladimir Doncea (2425) for remaining the lowest rated player still perfect at the Iasi Open. He started 3/3, which included a black win over 9th seed GM Mircea-Emilian Parligras (2581) with black. He is one of 7 players at 3/3.

In R4, he'll face 7th seeded GM Anton Demchenko (2589) with white.

Penguincw: And Doncea is the <only> player still perfect there, starting out 4/4 by beating Demchenko. However, he can't really relax, as there are 12 players half a point back, and 16 a further half back.

In R5, he'll have black against 3rd seed GM Yuri Kuzubov (2650)

Penguincw: After starting out 4/4, he would lose 3 in a row to drop from sole first to 37th place. :| He got one win back, but then lost the last one to finish with 5/9 (+5,-4,=0). On the bright side, no draws!

Although 2 of his losses were to 2600+ GMs, the other 2 were against an FM (2269) and a CM (2182)! I imagine that hurts, and it did, as he lost 1.6 points overall, and his TPR was 2368, so no GM norm.
