Jun-26-08  timhortons: Hes an aikido instructor.
1 GM norm.
ICC HANDLE ("CORRECTOR"is his incognito handle until he reveal it at dos hermanas) other handle "GARPUN"
Jun-26-08  Prugno: So, just like his more famous namesake Rudolf Nureev who was a ballet dancer, our friend Mr. Garun also earns a living thanks to physical activity. But honestly I think that an aikido instructor sounds a little less romantic!
Jun-26-08  timhortons: i chatted with one russian IM from siberia and he say chess is not appealing anymore to the youngsters in russia, theres no money in it, football is better.

most russian master earn a living by writing chess article and joining super tournament but state sponsorship is not likely.

some russian province has special classes for kids in chess but thats not everywhere.

Individual chess players well either be sponsored by a college or province and only few could get that previlege, most find there own way in earning a living and prices in russia are skyrocketing, everyhting is expensive.
