Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-28-08  Jim Bartle: Real sad to read today of the death of Delaney Bramlett, the wonderfully infectious and human singer of Delaney and Bonnie and Friends in the late 60s and early 70s.

The first D&B album "The Original Delaney and Bonnie--Accept No Substitutes" is a great, great record, with the great band they had assembled. Unforunately Joe Cocker then stole virtually the whole group with offers of riches.

Onstage D&B was loose and vaguely chaotic, always with stray musicians coming on and off to play without much rehearsal. All great fun.

They did a famous tour with Eric Clapton backing them, including a great version of "Don't Want to Discuss It." Members of that band later became Derek and the Dominos.
