Aug-12-12  parmetd: First!
Aug-12-12  Blunderdome: Be great if Svidler wins despite not winning a game until the final round.
Aug-12-12  waustad: I just wish this were at an hour more conducive to viewing in EDT.
Aug-12-12  Strongest Force: The special time don't bother me. I am like a zombie that's awake at all hours of the day and night.
Aug-12-12  ivchoc: karjakin favored in the rapids ofcourse, but will he pull it off?
Aug-12-12  brankat: When does the T-break tournament start? Thank You.

Sneaky: I'm not 100% sure but I believe it starts at 1:00am USA/Eastern time (6:00am GMT). If anybody has a link to where the live games may be, please share. Maybe whychess will show it?
Aug-12-12  Strongest Force: It starts 1am edt
Aug-12-12  cro777: Round 1, Monday, August 13 at 13:00 Moscow time:

Karjakin - Potkin

Svidler - Alekseev

Andreikin - Jakovenko

Aug-12-12  Wild Bill: Oh, boy I can watch some it tonight.

It starts at 10 pm PDT.

Aug-12-12  brankat: Thank You <Sneaky>!

I wonder if there is a chance that we may have a live coverage here at CG.com?

Aug-13-12  twinlark: Grischuk would really be kicking himself for missing this part of the tournament, where he could shine.
Aug-13-12  Strongest Force: We've been getting various times for when it starts but cro777's report makes sense.
Aug-13-12  The Last Straw: Oh my god! Just betted (chessbucks is closing in 10 min).
Aug-13-12  waustad: According to TWIC: It starts 9am Moscow time. That is 1AM EDT.

This is something from the official site for those who read Russian: Для определения чемпиона России 2012 года проводится дополнительный турнир с укороченным контролем времени, в котором принимают участие Поткин Владимир, Яковенко Дмитрий, Алексеев Евгений, Андрейкин Дмитрий, Карякин Сергей, Свидлер Петр. Начало в 13:00 (мск).

I'm guessing that means that it doesn't start when TWIC says, but when <cro777> suggested.

HeMateMe: You can't get chessplayers out of bed at 9:00am.
Aug-13-12  brankat: 2:30 AM EDT. It would now be 3:30 PM, Monday in Moscow. CG.com's link <Live Chess> is on, but still has nothing to broadcast.
Aug-13-12  Beholder: The tiebreak tournament starts today (the 13th) at 13:00 Moscow time, which is still 1.5 hours away at the time of this writing ;)
Aug-13-12  brankat: Actually <beholder> is right.

I miscalculated the differences among the time zones.

1:00 PM, Monday in Moscow is

5:00 AM, Monday EDT and

2:00 AM, Monday PST.

Aug-13-12  kellmano: Anyone find a link to the live games?
Aug-13-12  kellmano: Indeed, does anyone know what the rules are?
