Nov-13-09 | | TheFocus: I invented the move Rd5. If anyone uses it, I expect royalties. I also invented ...Rd4, but must share credit with a Spaniard named Jose, who used it in the same tournament. He and I split the royalties on that one. |

Nov-14-09 | | Plato: <SirChrislov> I hope you invented it prior to 1995, when it was used by A. De Jesus in the Girls U16 world Championship (seriously) :) The game is not yet in the CG database, but it's in ChessBase's BigBase. Unfortunately, De Jesus lost that game and eight others, finishing in last place out of the 40 participants. It seems the Chrislov Gambit is most popular at U16 events. Its only other occurrence in my database was in the U16 Australian Championship in 2001, when Matthew Beltrami (rated 764) used it and got a draw. |

Nov-14-09 | | SirChrislov: <Plato> I didn't know that it had been played before, thanks. I thought of it this year, then I found out it had no name so I put my name on it. |

Nov-15-09 | | PinnedPiece: I toured with Frank Zappa for 7 mos. in the late 60s. He was going to form a group "The Fathers of Invention" but when I told him he hung out with real mothers, he decided to change the name. . |

Nov-15-09 | | PinnedPiece: Mac vs PC ads
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByCy...
Everybody under the age of 25 realizes that John Hodgeman (who plays "PC"--David Mitchell in the UK) is actually in the employ of Apple Corp and is speaking the lines of their Ad men. People over 35 are fooled out of their Bermuda shorts and think PC is actually pretty pathetic. . |

Nov-17-09 | | cannibal: In 1998, I invented the saying "I invented the saying (XYZ)". However, <technical draw> had just claimed copyright for inventing the saying "I invented the saying 'I invented the saying (XYZ)'", so I had to pay him before my business even got started. |

Nov-17-09 | | technical draw: <Can I be the Treasurer of Densa?? I'll pay you 20 bucks if you let me!> I don't know <WannaBe>. Sometimes you exhibit intelligence slightly above are maximum IQ level (55). On average you could qualify but we wouldn't want someone here gloating of getting 56 on an IQ test. Send the 20 bucks anyway and I'll think about it. |

Nov-17-09 | | PinnedPiece: <technical draw: I am a founding member of the low IQ society Densa.> This is typical of all our new members. They somehow think they are the founders. We have to live with it. . |

 | | tamar: <What's the deal? When I joined it was only $3.50. I don't remember voting in favor of an increase. Has the board started mavericking on their own again?> Overhead, state taxes and misc. special fees is all I can figure out. Better just send another $5 |
|
Nov-17-09 | | PinnedPiece: <tamar> on a hunch I just checked my spam folder on the email and found the DAABOR announcement that it's going to $10 on Jan 1st of next year. Wow. This doesn't make sense to me in these tough economic times. Do they think this is going to be more competitive with Densa? Maybe it will be. I shouldn't question their leadership, I know. I'm not in this organizati8on for nothing! . |

Nov-17-09 | | Jim Bartle: I have discovered the DENSA application for chessgames members. Here are some of the questions: 1. Have you ever replied to comments by Ed Trice or Joshka? 2. Have you ever sent $20 to Technical Draw?
3. Have you ever used the term "fanboy"?
4. Have you ever read five consecutive frogbert posts from beginning to end?
4a. Did you understand them?
5. Have you posted more than five times on Rybka-Nakamura? 6. Have you kibitzed more than twice about the physical attractiveness of female players? 7. Do you search through the player database searching for names fit for humorous remarks? (Oops, scratch that one.) 8. Have you commented on the relative number of pages of kibitzing on certain teenage players? |
