Mar-01-18  Big Pawn: <Just go watch the ball game without a care in the world, Washington has got you covered.>

You can take the ball game and stick it in your commie a**!

I don't <do> the ball game.

<The US government doesn't need to take away the right of Americans to own guns, Washington effortlessly controls its peoples without a shot being fired.>

You aren't fooling <anyone> with this hard line propaganda. Your view of the world is so one dimensional. All over the world, there are forces of good and forces of evil, and they work among the people on a small scale and large scale. On a small scale, people are not kind to each other. They lie, cheat, steal, have sex with their friends' wives, gossip and sow discord. There is a good side too where people are kind to one another, offer a helping hand, hold the door open for the next person and so on.

On a large scale, good and evil manifests itself in different entities, including nations and international alliances, both overt and covert.

The evil is like the Red Death, if you remember your Poe. Not even a king is safe from the Red Death and neither is a queen, prince or baron, or clergy member. The same with evil. It contaminates any who are vulnerable in any population. In the US, we see it manifesting itself as corruption in the government, as political correctness masquerading as "empathy" but, like a snake, silently slithering around, looking for truth to murder.

This is common to every country, every small group of people and everything in between, so when you say "Washington this and Washington that", you are conspicuously pinpointing your focus on one gum wrapper sitting in the entire junk yard.

We are the United States of America, not the Perfect States of America, but we are the greatest country the world has ever seen, and our people enjoy freedom, including the right to bear arms against our own gov't should the need arise, unlike anyone before. A government for the people, by the people was never tried before The Great Experiment, and we've led the way to a freer world.

Meanwhile, the Soviets executed 20 million dissidents after they took their guns away.

Never, ever forget that.

Don't try your propaganda here. If you are going to comment in the Elite Poster's Cafe, bring the real A-game.

Your curiosity should lead you above the heads of state, as true sovereigns, and to the real puppet masters, who pull all the strings and drive the goings on of the world. The people behind culture creation, mind control and manipulation.

Just look at <Tuna> and tell me it's not happening.

Mar-01-18  Colonel Mortimer: <The evil is like the Red Death, if you remember your Poe. Not even a king is safe from the Red Death and neither is a queen, prince or baron, or clergy member. The same with evil. It contaminates any who are vulnerable in any population. In the US, we see it manifesting itself as corruption in the government, as political correctness masquerading as "empathy" but, like a snake, silently slithering around, looking for truth to murder.>

So there is no such thing as American exceptionalism?

<We are the United States of America, not the Perfect States of America, but we are the greatest country the world has ever seen>

Oh, maybe not. Because when America demonstrates her evil, it's still the greatest evil the world has ever seen!

Mar-01-18  Big Pawn: <So there is no such thing as American exceptionalism?>

Let me ask you, who is the leader of the free world?

Your answer to that question makes the country exceptional, as it is the exception that finds itself in the leadership role.

<Oh, maybe not. Because when America demonstrates her evil, it's still the greatest evil the world has ever seen!>

No it's not. The conquerors of old killed every man, woman and child in a place they warred with. The US didn't even do that in Hiroshima.

The US didn't disarm its citizens and then kill 20 million dissidents like the Russians.

The US didn't put 12 million people in the ovens.

The US has restrained itself unlike any nation before in the super power position. In days of old, a nation with such power would have taken over the whole world by force. We would have simply taken Iraq and made it a part of the US, and killed every man, woman and child that resisted.

The US gives more foreign aid than any other country, and that's directly from our pockets to yours.

All the countries that and people that say that US is evil, they ignore their own past evils, which are worse than the US.

Finally, you can try your lame propaganda if you want, but while you do that, the world is packing their bags and heading to the US to get in line, a long line, for the hope of just getting in.

As Bobby Fischer used to say, best by test.

Mar-01-18  Colonel Mortimer: <Let me ask you, who is the leader of the free world?>

Certainly not the country with the largest prison population per capita of the entire world.

Certainly not the country that has more women in jail than any other country.

I'm talking about the United States. Which country are you talking about?

Mar-01-18  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: <Let me ask you, who is the leader of the free world?>

Certainly not the country with the largest prison population per capita of the entire world.>

The more criminals that are in jail, the freer the good, innocent, upstanding people of the society are. We need to build more jails and keep people in there longer.

So, just to make this clear, what you're saying is that criminals shouldn't go to jail, and the good folks should be forced to live in a criminal society with crime unchecked, and that's freedom?

Is this <really> all you have?

So who is the leader of the free world, <mort>?

Mar-01-18  Colonel Mortimer: <So, just to make this clear, what you're saying is that criminals shouldn't go to jail>

I have no problem with you taking issue with statistics.

Right now, the US is the largest jailor in the world per capita.

It's not any other country's problem, but it is America's problem.

That's something you may wish to deal with next time you promote the oxymoron of the US being the leader of the free world.

Which three individuals had their chessforum shut down by the Administrators - not suspended, but shut down - for repeated rule violations?

Three guesses. :P

We do have a Democrat party, and they do require victims.

How many "illegals" do you think our
"jails" stop?

<Certainly not the country that has more women in jail>

Mort prefers stoning, or gay roof tossing.
Doesn't take up a lot of prison space.

Mar-01-18  Colonel Mortimer: <diceman:> <gay roof tossing>

Wow, sounds like US Conservatives have forced the gay scene out of the privacy of the bedroom and on to the roof.

Mar-02-18  diceman: O'Sullivan's Law:

<O’Sullivan’s Law states that any organization or enterprise that is not expressly right wing will become left wing over time. The law is named after British journalist John O’Sullivan.

Television shows are the best examples of this. 24, House. Charitable foundations are worse but harder to see.

One of the reasons for this is leftist intolerance versus right-wing tolerance. Right wingers are willing to hire openly left-wing employees in the interest of fairness. Left-wingers, utterly intolerant, will not allow a non-Liberal near them, and will harass them at every opportunity. The result over time is that conservative enterprises are infiltrated by leftists but leftist enterprises remain the same or get worse.

Also, leftism is in and of itself a form of decay. It’s what happens not just to television shows but to nations, churches and universities as the energy given off by the big bang of their inception slowly ebbs away. Rather than expend vitality in originality and creation they become obsessed with introspection, popularity and lethargy. Leftism is entropy of the spirit and intellect.

Another reason is that the parasitic nature of Liberals/Leftists attracts them to existing money.

An enterprise can stave off O'Sullivan's Law if their creators keep it in mind and remain vigilant and truthful. O'Sullivan's Law hit 24 when they finally had a Muslim villain then started running disclaimers that Muslims aren't all terrorists.

The Annenberg Foundation was started by a Republican but it didn't take long before O'Sullivan's Law had them handing a domestic terrorist money for educating kids.

The ACLU, the Ford Foundation and the Episcopal Church all fell to O’Sullivan’s Law.>

Mar-02-18  Big Pawn: Very interesting and insightful post, <diceman>. Along those lines I would dig even deeper and say that the reason leftism itself is a form of decay is because the spirit of leftism is sin, and sin is death and destruction.

Liberalism is the argument of Satan himself as the snake in genesis. He asks (the first question in the bible by the way), "Did God really say...?" and introduced the kind of deadly intellectualism that is the language of sin, of deceit, of liberalism.
