OK, #1. on your list is a major one. However it is included in my list under 4. unwed pregnancy. (Unless the woman is married of course.) 2. Racial tension. It is innate to trust your own race more than an alien race, so I don't consider this a pathology any more than eating donuts is a pathology! (Since it is innate for humans to indulge in eating sugar and fat). 3. Disrespect for authority is a good one, but I don't think it belongs on the list because the list is <actions>, whereas disrespect is a mindset. |
|
| Jul-09-18 | | technical draw: OK, I see why it's hard. You generalize and I pick specifics. You say violent crime which is a general category and I say violence against children or the elderly which is more specific. However to attribute all these to social pathologies seems too simplistic to me. But since you quote from a list of scholars I'll take the results as fair. |

"Virtually all major social pathologies.." is a lot of pathologies.> There's actually only three.
The others were invented so folks who write papers, and those who "fix" pathologies, will always be employed. |

I posted the excerpt to provoke discussion, not to claim that Baskerville got it 100% right. *****
<diceman> good to have you back. |

| Jul-18-18 | | TheFocus: <Big Pawn> Welcome back. You clearly saw how <Bobster> is kicking butt on the Rogoff page. LOL! That man is a definite leader among the Elite Posters. |
|
| Jul-18-18 | | Big Pawn: Hey <focus>, thanks. Yes, <bobster> is cracking skulls consistently on the rogoff page. The EuroLibs are completely defeated and the American Libs can't even get back on their feet again. It's embarrassing! And yes, the Elite Posters. Well what can I say? They recognize one another! |
|
| Jul-18-18 | | thegoodanarchist: Inre <The Brothers Karamazov>, I read somewhere that Mario Puzo structured the Corleone family in "The Godfather" to be similar to the Karamazov family in Dostoevsky's work. |
|
| Jul-19-18 | | morfishine: <Big Pawn> I'm almost done with your WWI documentary video. I seem to be so busy, its hard to find a solid 1-hour in a row to watch it! This is an excellent video, thanks much |

| Jul-19-18 | | Big Pawn: <Morf: This is an excellent video, thanks much> Yes sir, glad you liked it.
Now I want to share with you something that will take forever to watch, but I'm fairly certain you'll really like it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU... That's The Great War channel on YouTube. They started in 2014 exactly 100 days after WW1 started. What they do is, every week they recap exactly what happened that week 100 years ago during the Great War. It's excellent! They've got it arranged in playlists to watch chronologically, and separated by years, 1914, 1915 and so on. They have much more than that too. Aside from there obligatory weekly videos recapping what happened this week 100 years ago, they also have lots of other informative little vids about all kinds of odds and ends stuff related to WW1. Tons of detail!
They've done a fantastic job. |

| Jul-19-18 | | Big Pawn: <Tga>, I just read the first line and already I like this article. I can relate to it SO MUCH! <I’ll let you in on a leetle secret. It wasn’t Trump’s policy positions that initially roused my enthusiasm for his prospects as a cuckstablishment destroyer. > It says so much right there.
<@#$%libs faint with the “I can’t even” vapors at the sight of Trump’s knowledge droppage, but we who operate in the dating trenches nod knowingly and recognize Trump as one of us: the few, the proud, the poonlords.> LOL! It's pretty hard to make me laugh out loud for real, but this did it. <I would never buy Ivana any decent jewels or pictures. Why give her negotiable assets?> BAM! Long live the king!
<You know, it doesn’t really matter what [the media] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.> Oh boy, the <soy boys> on Rogoff who are controlled by the fat ugly wives couldn't handle this much man in one sitting. <My favorite part [of ‘Pulp Fiction’] is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: ‘Bitch be cool.’ I love those lines.> LOL!
<Trump assumes the sale. A sterling demonstration of a classic Game technique.Bonus TrumpenTruth!
Women: “You have to treat ’em like @#$%.” (New York magazine, Nov. 9, 1992)> LOL! LOL!
LOL!
Trump is sooooooo real.
It's amazing that we have a real man in the office again. And it's driving the henpecked little cuck soy boys insane. |
|
| Jul-19-18 | | thegoodanarchist: <It's amazing that we have a real man in the office again.> Indeed! And he is NOT a warmonger!
Think of the shrieking libs on Rogoff. They were probably going batsheet when George W. was beating the war drums in 2002, getting ready to invade Iraq. I sure was, speaking as a very far left (at the time) voter. So now Trump comes along, and he tries to forge peace in Korea. He tries to forge peace with Russia. And the libs HATE him! They want to crucify him. They are praying and begging Mueller to give them something, anything! It is sick. Just really sick. I cannot think of any better description than that. Maybe deranged, but sick is better IMO. I absolutely LOVE the fact that Trump is trying to create good relations with Russia, and peace in Korea. Hell, if he can get the Chinese to make concessions that will reduce our trade imbalance, I bet money he will follow that up by trying to create better relations with them too. I hated W for his warmongering, and warmongering was one of the reasons why I wouldn't consider McCain in 2008. But now Trump is just winning me over left and right with his SMART policy, seeking peace and prosperity. And all the sheetlibs are just going insane in a bad way, and over what? Over peace! The crowd that chanted "Give peace a chance" 40 years ago is doing nothing of the sort today. But God Bless our President, Donald J. Trump! |
|
| Jul-19-18 | | thegoodanarchist: I am renaming my forum! |
|
| Jul-20-18 | | diceman: Another gem from, "The Thinker."
<Richard Taylor:
<Luke Warm: What’s a “pedo”?> Pedophile.
Someone who likes children and sometimes sex with them. It is all over the world. The FBI have maps of the Internet and sometimes swoop but there are so many people into pedophilia...I think as humans (mainly men) we are possibly oversexed and things go wrong. So such people we might say are "sickos" but then the brain is a complex thing...How can we in fact judge anyone on anything? The man accused was one of the rescuers of the boys in Thailand....a brave man I believe...that he is or isn't a pedophile is irrelevant until I suppose he is convicted... But I think that potentially all human beings can become anything...We are simply a part of a continuing process..."right" and "wrong" (which are almost impossible to define) are relative to our human social situation...Something like that...> Hey, is it Ok to run a 5 year old through a band saw? I don't know?
<right and wrong> are almost impossible
to define!
<We are simply a part of a continuing process...>! <How can we in fact judge anyone on anything?>??? |
|
| Jul-20-18 | | Big Pawn: <dice>, your follow up on his statement is pretty much along the lines of how I was going to follow up. Sounds like <Richard Taylor> doesn't want to be judged for being a Pedo. Not saying he is one, only that it sounds like he's making excuses to remain outside of judgment on the issue. Right and wrong are almost impossible to define, until it comes to George Bush, America or Donald Trump. Then the libs have no problem coming to judgments! |
|
| Jul-21-18 | | morfishine: <Big Pawn> I finally finished the video, this sure was an enjoyable documentary. The maps, graphics and were sound effects were superb. These were so well balanced that the net effect made the war easy to follow and understand. This format is wonderful and I think should be highly recommended. Thanks! |

(When BP's around you have to put all your points in the first post to get credit for them!) Heh, heh. |

| Jul-21-18 | | thegoodanarchist: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazin... What if a person commits acts that we call "evil" because their brain is malformed? Are they really evil? |
|
| Jul-21-18 | | Big Pawn: Acts are not evil because someone says they are evil. That would not be objective but rather subjective. It would be mere opinion. |
|
| Jul-21-18 | | thegoodanarchist: <Big Pawn: Acts are not evil because someone says they are evil.> I didn't say that was the reason. Reading comprehension, please! <That would not be objective but rather subjective. It would be mere opinion.> Irrelevant, because you misunderstood my post. |

Reading comprehension, please!> You posited that as the reason in your question, for crying out loud. <What if a person commits acts that <we call "evil"> because their brain is malformed?> If our "calling" them evil doesn't matter, your question is pointless. |
