At one time they were thought to be the preservers of morality in a society. And they sure as heck were a lot more feminine in the past. Now a lot of them are crude, obnoxious, selfish harpies. It's unfortunate. So-called feminism made them this way. |

 | | gezafan: There were many beautiful women from the past that are now forgotten. Younger generations may have never heard of them. Here's a list of some of them, in no particular order. Many of them were from before I was born but I've been delving into old movies. Loretta Young, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Vikki Dougan, Raquel Welch, Barbara Eden, Pattie Boyd, Jean Shrimpton, Ava Gardner, Veronica Lake, Kim Novak, Natalie Wood, Hedy Lamar, Joan Collins, Janet Leigh, Jean Simmons, and Gene Tierney. And there are others. If you like beautiful women look these ladies up. |

| Nov-22-20 | | thegoodanarchist: <Check It Out: <tga> If this episode occurred in the early to mid-'80s, where's the footage? The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson show was well documented. No vhs copies? No leaked copies? It's a well-known incident. If anyone had taped the episode it would have found its way to the internet.> Not necessarily. The Tonight Show (TNS) was on hundreds of times every year. VHS tapes only had a few hours of playing time, so when we recorded shows that aired daily, instead of investing in hundreds of cassettes and a $5k addition to the house to store them in, we just reused the tapes. Certainly NBC wouldn't be leaking the footage, if they had some binding legal agreement. Some random fans likely taped it, but maybe not as many as you think. I don't recall if you could set them up to tape while you slept, in the early days of VCR technology. That advancement may have come after the episode aired. And if you were watching it at the time it broadcasted, why would you also tape it? You wouldn't. Also, video websites like youtube, for example, only got popular about a quarter century after the episode aired. What few copies there would have been when the episode aired would be mostly lost, damaged, thrown away, forgotten in attics or bookcases, reused, etc. It's not like it was anything historically significant, like the Zapruder film is significant. <It's the "certitude" of your deductions based on hearsay that I'm chipping away at. No, you don't have to prove it, but your language might change.> You aren't chipping away at anything. I have a trustworthy eyewitness who told me about it the day after it aired. We also have <diceman>'s analysis: <<Johnny Carson: No, I think I would've recalled that.>Just because he said that doesn't make it a denial. The guy is a comedian!

| Nov-22-20 | | thegoodanarchist: <If anyone had taped the episode it would have found its way to the internet.> One more thing - absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. To post it on the internet, you have to a) have a copy, and b) remember you have it! (senior citizens are known for being forgetful), c) know how to post it, and d) care enough to do so. The people who might have a copy and who are alive today are all going to be over 60 years of age. They would have been adults at the time the episode aired, with their own TVs and VCRs that they purchased with money earned from their jobs. Many of them will have forgotten the incident ever occurred. As for posting it on youtube, elderly people aren't into new technology the way younger generations are. How many people over 60 have a youtube channel? I remember my uncle setting up an e-mail account for my grandmother, and her being apprehensive about using it. She was technology-phobic, as most old people are, <uncomfortable> using e-mail for gosh sakes! |

Ah, I see what you mean now. You are referring to what is going on in your own mind. Well, you can believe the moon is made of green cheese if you'd like. Doesn't make it so. You've received data, in the form of 2 second-hand eyewitness testimonies, from 2 independent sources. Yet you choose to reject this data. As for me, I received one of the eyewitness testimonies first-hand, the day after the episode aired. And I also saw the episode where Jane Fonda provided her son's account of the episode. Back in the day, I was wondering if NBC would ever rebroadcast the Gabor clip in a highlights episode. But if NBC was compelled legally to not show Gabor herself at the receiving end of trashy innuendo, then why not show someone else recounting it? And if it never happened, then why show the Jane Fonda clip at all? |
|
| Nov-23-20 | | thegoodanarchist: <Big Pawn: Women are different now. They cuss and swear a lot, they have tons of tattoos and they're so trashy. Glad I grew up in the 80s.> <<<>>gezafan: Women in the past had a lot more class.> <<<<>>>Check It Out: Chipping away...> These 2 topics, women and doubting, may appear unrelated, but they aren't really. These are both signs of the times (SOTTs), signs of the same phenomenon. You see, we live in a time when Liberalism is sweeping victoriously through Western Civilization, not just in America. Not classical Liberalism, but a different kind - Progressivism. The Progressives even say this themselves: "I'm not a Liberal, I'm a Progressive". What they mean is "I'm not a <classical> Liberal." It's true they are not classical libs. They are actually Marxists. Not the economic kind, the cultural kind, 'CM' for short. CMs reject Christianity, which is God's Truth for humanity and also informs us of God's divine order: God is the head of man, man is the head of wife and children. Since God is True *and* Good, truth, goodness (and beauty) are derived from God and Christianity. For example, how many of the truly great works of art are created by Christians, about Christianity? Art in this category is THE great art of Western Civilization. Examples: Supper at Emmaus:
https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/... Pietà
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet%... CM is basically the opposite of, or more accurately, the antagonist of, cultural Christianity. Thus, instead of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness, CM brings Lies, Ugliness, and Evil. It is, in a word, Satanic. America is in a post-Christian era, from which there can be only 2 outcomes: revival or destruction. The more the Left wins, the more they destroy the Truth and Beauty of our once-Christian culture. This is why American women used to be, for the most part, classy and beautiful. <<<>>Women in the past had a lot more class.> Now so many are trashy and/or fat. <Women are different now. They cuss and swear a lot> And this is also why we live in an age of lies. Satan is the Father of Lies, which is why CM has brought us into an age of lies. Network news is now worse than useless; it is evil propaganda. Reporters will stand in a riot and pronounce it peaceful, with a straight face! And this is why there is a serious lack of discernment in so many Americans now. The younger you are, the more likely you are to mistake lies for the truth, and truth for lies: <<<<>>>Chipping away...> I went to a couple of Trump rallies before the election, outdoor rallies. All the messages and symbolism from that side was positive. There were always a few counter protesters, and almost all of them younger people, 20-somethings. They were all, every one, trashy. Their message was, LITERALLY, vulgar negativity ('eff Trump, etc.). Father Vincent Lampert has summed up the big picture very eloquently. To paraphrase, he says the physical realm, here on earth, is the battleground of the spiritual realm. This is why people on the political Right are making a mistake when we try to discuss politics rationally with people on the political Left. It has ZERO effect on them, because their politics is not really politics at all. It is their religion! And the rise of CM is why demand for Fr Lampert's ministry is exploding nowadays. Half or more of the people of Western Civilization are apostate. The battle lines are drawn, and they are stark. And we know from Revelations, that eventually evil will prevail on earth temporarily. But in the end, the Good Guys always win. |

<tga> You're all over the place. This entire discussion is over whether the Zsa Zsa - Carson incident occurred or not. I said the incident was, "most likely apocryphal", you said "the incident is NOT apocryphal." That's 100% certitude on your part. I'm trying to convince you that there is a possibility that the episode didn't occur. My attempts were: 1. Johnny Carson himself said it didn't. 2. There is no footage available of the episode. 3. The timeline for your hearsay story with your high school buddy doesn't add up. Is it possible the episode did occur and that there was a huge coverup that continues to today to avoid lawsuit from Zsa Zsa Gabor, who passed away four years ago? Sure, it's possible. And yes, there are a lot of folks who say they saw the episode. But it seems unlikely. The Tonight Show was well documented after 1972. It's such a famous and loved story that someway, somehow, it would have made it to the internet. Zsa Zsa doesn't seem like the type who would have been particularly embarrassed by the joke to threaten a lawsuit. I don't have 100% certitude about the truth of the matter, you do. That's what I'm "chipping away" at. Since you didn't address my third point, I'll end here. |

<3. The timeline for your hearsay story with your high school buddy doesn't add up.> What are you talking about? Are you referring to your claim that Gabor wasn't on the show after 1977? The claim is erroneous, probably arising from suppression of the original episode. <Is it possible the episode did occur and that there was a huge coverup that continues to today to avoid lawsuit from Zsa Zsa Gabor, who passed away four years ago?> Coverup continues to this day?? That is a crazy idea. This isn't the Kennedy assassination or Area 51 space aliens. One episode, from a show that had thousands of them mind you, got suppressed - probably in order to avoid litigation. Happens all the time in litigious America. This is called a "non-disclosure agreement", not a "coverup". Lots of old TV shows were never preserved. It's not a conspiracy, just lack of effort to preserve them. The original 'Dark Shadows' episodes were preserved by fluke, whereas many old shows are no longer available for viewing simply due to lack of preservation effort. <But it seems unlikely. The Tonight Show was well documented after 1972. It's such a famous and loved story that someway, somehow, it would have made it to the internet.> Sorry, I don't engage in magical thinking (somehow!). I've already addressed this in a previous post. <Zsa Zsa doesn't seem like the type who would have been particularly embarrassed by the joke to threaten a lawsuit.> So you think you know Zsa Zsa Gabor's mindset? You're a hoot! <I don't have 100% certitude about the truth of the matter, you do. That's what I'm "chipping away" at.> Sorry, you can't read my mind any better than you can read Gabor's mind. I am still 100% certain; you've chipped away anything. |

| Nov-26-20 | | thegoodanarchist: <KS> Turkey is probably the most popular, but lots of people go with ham. Stuffing or dressing is wildly popular too, as a side dish. In my lifetime, green bean casserole has gained in popularity. Cranberry sauce is popular too. Originally I think it was put on the turkey for a combination of sweet and savory. Don't forget the mashed potatoes; and for an after dinner treat, some kind of pie. |

| Nov-28-20 | | Big Pawn: <optimal play: America's foreign policy is the main reason why so many people outside the USA are disappointed with Trump's re-election being stolen by the Deep State and are apprehensive about a Biden administration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8-... An excellent video putting it all in perspective. Things have been much improved in the Middle East since Trump came in and bombed ISIS out of existence there. Obama "tried" to do it for five years. Russia tried to do it for a few years. No one could do it.
Then Trump came in a cleaned house. After that, the libs said, "There will be no peace agreements in the Middle East if you go around the Palestinians." Wrong again! (John Kerry, are you a lurking reader?). Trump found out that there are plenty of Arab states that are sick and tired of being held hostage, as it were, to the Palestinian cause. Trump also realized that many Arab states are very wary of Iran and all of their proxies. These Middle East Arab states were thrown off balance when Obama sided with Iran, giving them pallets of hard cash and billions of dollars which they could spend on their worldwide terror campaigns and nuclear program. Trump was strong against Iran and this gave the various Arab states some confidence. Between Trump's hard stance against Iran and his willingness to conduct foreign policy by going around the Palestinian issue, he was able to help bring peace agreements to the Middle East that have never been seen before. That's not all. He also drew down troops in Syria. "Why are we going to fight over sand hills. They can keep the sand. We don't care about sand. Let the Russians fight for the sand hills if they want them." Trump's strategy for deal with the Middle East is novel, brilliant and efficacious. Trump's presidency was good for the whole entire world, even by putting America first. |
|
| Nov-28-20 | | optimal play: Yes, President Trump's foreign policy in general, and middle east policy in particular, has been a triumph! Why has he not received the Noble Peace Prize? Because the Noble committee suffers from TDS. What I find most hard to fathom is that TDS is so rampant amongst the American MSM that they are prepared to collude in the destruction of American democracy just to get rid of Trump. <Trump should ‘continue legal fight’ because there is ‘industrial scale fraud’> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4By...
The industrial scale fraud which is so clearly evident in this election is being denied and swept under the carpet in a mad rush to inaugurate Joe Biden. Are Americans really okay with this? |
