| Apr-24-08 | | Kreifi: <malthrope PS: The 'Pick 3's generally have some cool long shots that sometimes because of the way others are betting (too heavy on the obvious choices) that one or two may squeak through and Win! <grin> That's what I do in the attempt to collect a good win then right after that regroup to build again. ;)> Noticed that too, thats why I like "pick three" so much. I will collect some good money if my betting hits. My style to play is quite risky style, I look usually good odds and bet to them (no, not insane amounts of money). I think it's no use to put great amounts of money to odds something like 2. :/ |

| Apr-24-08 | | technical draw: <mal> I think the Polgar sisters can never be confused with men. So a better excuse is this: I thought that was a practice game! |

| Apr-24-08 | | malthrope: <Kreifi: <Noticed that too, thats why I like "pick three" so much. I will collect some good money if my betting hits.>> Indeed <Kreifi> ! There are c-bucks to be made in them there Baku 'Pick 3' bets! :) I could write a lengthy essay betting on 'Pick 3's but that would be giving away all my secrets... <sheepish grin> Hehehe ;) <My style to play is quite risky style, I look usually good odds and bet to them (no, not insane amounts of money). I think it's no use to put great amounts of money to odds something like 2. :/> Yep me too! ;) Probably there are lots of us that follow a similar strategy... I've gotten much better in tempering my risk factors. Unless I'm completely <flush> will *not* consider betting on draws where betting $100 gets you $110! ~lol~ However, when I'm <flush> it's an entirely different story and I'm convinced that the game in question will be a draw (sort of like the upcoming 'Grischuk-Adams' game in Baku for Round #5 - it's certainly not guaranteed but it looks like I'd bet heavy if <flush> on that result based on their past performance and current tournament standings here in Baku). As I've stated before, the real trick is to know when to <Sit on your Hands> (betting in limited amounts) and when to <Pull the Trigger> (bet with reckless abandon showing no fear!). 'Good Luck' in regrouping and hope some of us got a piece of <Draw-Draw-White> in the 'Pick 3' from Round #4! <grin> <technical draw: <mal> I think the Polgar sisters can never be confused with men. So a better excuse is this: I thought that was a practice game!> That's much better <TD> :) That one is both believable and funny! ;) I mean after all, how many countless times have we been deviously misinformed? :^) - Mal |

 | | WannaBe: Flames or Glory, here we go (again)!! |
|
| Apr-24-08 | | NakoSonorense: I think TD was onto something when he said that WannaBe's excellent (and surprising) high ranking was a sign for the anti-christ. Look, even the <Messiah> has made his appearance in the leading board! Is he here to protect our poor soul? Idk! Maybe... =) |

Me thinks <TD> is gonna have a field day with this one! ;) Will <vanderguile> total domination of the Leaderboard, atm, be affected by all this? How about <WannaBe>'s 'Flames' or 'Glory' and how will that play itself out? Sheesh - we may have to wait 'till this holy <Sunday> to get some answers! ~lol~ :^) - Mal PS: <vanderguile> has a cool Bio if you haven't already checked it out! ;) |
|
| Apr-25-08 | | technical draw: That's the power of prayer. Wannabe (the anti-christ) tries to enter the world via the chessbookie game. but God sends the Messiah and Mr. 666 drops from 5th to 11th. Soon he will be banished back to the underworld where he belongs. |

 | | WannaBe: <Chessgames Bookie> Sum'thing ain't right with the Loan Shark... I went to repay my loan, and possibly borrow more, and here is what I saw on my screen: <Lost all your money again, did ya? Alright, I'm up for more action.I can spot you another 100 chessbucks, bringing your balance up to 100. Accept 500 chessbuck loan?>
So, is it 100 chessbucks? Or is it 500 chessbucks? |

So, is it 100 chessbucks? Or is it 500 chessbucks?> <WannaBe> - Take the money and run! ~lol~ You can always issue a complaint to Customer Service afterwards if you're unsatisfied with the result! ;) Another option - pay off the loan and see how much the Loanshark is willing to lend you then... If all else fails <Twist his Arm!> :^) - Mal |
|
| Apr-26-08 | | technical draw: Wow! The Messiah shows up and Wannabe drops 240 places!. Thats't ok <wannbe> you'll feel more comfortable there in the dregs among your kind. You looked very uncomfortable in a tuxedo. Now you got your overalls back and the world is safe (for now). |
|
| Apr-26-08 | | Kreifi: <WannaBe> Said same to me earlier, the 100 is wrong, at least it was for me. -- I'm not sure but it starts to look like I'm not winning. :D |

Apr-26-08
 | | WannaBe: I blame all my losing bets on <technical draw>. Me thinkth, he's put a curse on me! =) |
|
| Apr-26-08 | | technical draw: <Wannabe> I didn't put a curse on you. It's just a natural correction. Everyone falls into his/her designated slot and can't vary much from there. You varied too much from your natural slot, so the laws of nature took over. (See "Understanding Quantum Theory and it's applications to games of chance" By TD, PhD.... |

 | | WannaBe: Wow, <Robin01> is now atop the leader board!! NICE! =) |
|
| May-05-08 | | pawnofdoom: <Chessgames Bookie> How did the payout for the <Baku Grand Prix Winner> go? There were three winners, yet I got one fourth of the expected payout (12,000 chessbucks) |
|
May-06-08
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <pawnofdoom> From the help file: If there are two or more winning lines in an event (e.g. a tie for first place), all tickets for any winning bet will be paid off. The total "loser pool" (all chessbucks wagered on losing tickets) is split evenly among all winning betting lines—for example, with a three-way tie the loser pool (after juice) would be split into thirds. Then those smaller pools are distributed to the winners normally. When this happens, the odds payed will be substantially worse than the final posted odds. |
