May-16-09  technical draw: <mal> Um, wrong Russian there on Peter and the Wolf. However we will eventually throw Mr. 380 to the wolves!
May-16-09  NakoSonorense: He who laughs last did not get the joke. xD

<TD> + <SicilianDragon> + <malthrope>: I'm not here to stay. I just decided to come down to the pits to pay you guys a visit. Enjoy my presence while you can because I'm afraid I will be leaving soon! How soon? Well, I haven't thought about that yet... :p

May-16-09  technical draw: <Nako> I think you will be humming "South of the Border" for many weeks to come!
May-16-09  malthrope: <technical draw: <Nako> I think you will be humming "South of the Border" for many weeks to come!>

<TD> - don't forget to add:

"While <TD> & <Mal> whistle a happy tune!" ~lol~ :D

May-16-09  technical draw: All this little joking between us cellar dwellers and we have failed to notice one of our own has made the leader board. I'm talking about that sneaky <sneaky> who is usually down here with us.

Well maybe he lost his way but I'm sure he'll be among us real soon.

May-18-09  technical draw: No sooner said then done. <sneaky> takes a plunge. I'm a prophet in my own time.

SwitchingQuylthulg: I've lost my way too. Directions, anybody?
May-20-09  kspiteri: <SwitchingQuylthulg: Directions, anybody?> Ivanchuk.

~ROFL~

From the look of things <Switch> I suggest just keep doing what you're doing... Going ^UP^ please! :D

May-20-09  SloVice: Congrats to SwitchingQuylthulg for the sudden rise in the ranks. However, I'm a little disheartened to see to 2-time winner leading the pack. I guess I'll just keep on keepin' on and hope for the best.
May-20-09  refutor: can't believe this is the third season...time flies doesn't it? :)

Sneaky: Curse you Technical Draw!!! And I was making such a great comeback, too. Some seasons I'm neither "stellar king" nor "cellar king" but just a flopping fish.

The good news is that the loanshark seems to love me. I guess it's due to those big loans I took out earlier and paid back. Now he fronts me 500 chessbucks daily without hesitation. If I can just hit ONE of these darn pick three's I'll be back in contention.

It's the fourth, isn't it?

Unless seasons without me participating don't count. ;-)

May-26-09  bharatiy: HI two Q.
1.When this leg will finish?
2. Do we get anything if we finish in top 10 apart from 10000 in winter leg? Thanks
May-27-09  kspiteri: <bharatiy>
1. The leg finishes close to the end of June.
2. Top finisher gets a free year of premium membership. Top ten get 10,000 in winter leg.
May-27-09  bharatiy: thank you <kspiteri>. I am excited because its first time I am within reach of top 10.
May-27-09  YouRang: Maybe I'm confused?

The announcement on the bookie page says:

<ANNOUNCEMENTS: The 3rd annual ChessBookie game has now commenced with the Spring Leg. All debts have been forgiven and everybody has 1000 chessbucks in their account. GOOD LUCK! >

This makes it sound like the Spring leg is just beginning, doesn't it? And yet, the Spring leg has been going on for some time, hasn't it?

Or maybe you meant something like "concluded" instead of "commenced with"?

Actually, that 'text box' announcement has been there since the very beginning of the Spring leg (which always starts off a brand new season). After being posted there it has not been changed or altered as it was timely at the time it was actually posted. If anything what's confusing is this line: <"The 3rd annual ChessBookie game"> As <Switch> has duly noted on this page...

<SwitchingQuylthulg: <refutor: can't believe this is the third season...> It's the fourth, isn't it?

This is indeed the 4th Season and *not* the 3rd ("Hall Of Fame" Winners: Winter 2007 - <iron maiden>, Winter 2008 - <percyblakeney> and Winter 2009 - <holland oats>). See the -- ChessBookie Hall of Fame

Hope that all helps! :^) - Mal

May-28-09  wordfunph II: Hello guys!

May-28-09  YouRang: <malthrope> Thanks for clearing up the confusion (or, at least, confirming that the confusion is warranted). :-)
