May-29-09 | | malthrope: <kspiteri: <Chessgames Bookie> It seems as if the bets on <Lublin: Winner> close 21 hours after the first round starts.> <kspiteri> - assuming the 'text box' info has remained the same since the original bet was posted it states: <"Please notice that the closing time of this bet will be after the 1st round has been played."> Also, it's restated here in the forum on May-28-09: < "Please note that the betting will close on May 30, which is after the 1st round has taken place." Lublin: Winner > So, <ChessBookie> has made for a special allowance in this case. :)) - Mal PS: <YouRang: <malthrope> Thanks for clearing up the confusion (or, at least, confirming that the confusion is warranted). :-)> You're welcome! :) Note: it also occurs as <"3rd year"> on the homepage. So, I suspect <CG.com> will get around to correcting it shortly. ;) |

ANNOUNCEMENTS: The 3rd annual ChessBookie game has now commenced with the Spring Leg... [...]> Yes <refutor> of course you did! So, did hundreds of others. ;) However, it is simply not true this is the 4th season (or 'year') and I suspect <CG.com> and <ChessBookie> will be making their corrections shortly. :) - Mal |

Jun-01-09 | | kspiteri: <wordfunph> Check that the odds are good before betting, but be careful not to bet too much since betting a large sum reduces the odds. You need to find a balance to get the best out of good odds without betting too much and risking too much for reduced odds. In some cases, you might be able to guess where the odds will settle for a particular bet. Then you might bet a large sum at the beginning of a round when the odds are not yet good, but then the odds will eventually improve. |
