 | | Sneaky: <technical draw> You think I'm trying to win this one? Yer darn tootin' I'm trying to win this one! "From worst to first!" I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't try. Maybe I should just be happy with my 2nd place finish. But hey, this is only a qualification leg so 2nd place is no better than 10th, except for "bragging rights". And I don't put too much value on bragging rights. My strategy is simple: make a huuuuuuge bet on the Short game, and a small bet on an opening (not tellin' which one, haha). If I am lucky and win both bets, I will catapult over <capatal>. (That's assuming that he isn't going to get a wealth of new money when the match is over.) <capatal> has such an enormous lead now that it would take a miracle to overcome him. I estimate my odds of doing it only about 10% or so. But the beauty of the strategy is that even if I lose all of my bets tomorrow I'll still have 6000+ which I'm fairly sure will be good enough to qualify. |

Sep-28-09 | | Bradah: Fastest update I have ever seen. Wootttt!!! Bravo. I got paid 15 minutes after the Carlsen-Leko game.:o)) |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: <DCP23> Thanks, I needed that. |
Sep-30-09 | | technical draw: I took out a loan from the loanshark and he called me two-bit deadbeat. I may take my business elsewhere. |
Sep-30-09 | | Ragh: <TD> Could it be possible that he has this strange character of hurling insults out of love? |
Sep-30-09 | | technical draw: <Ragh> Look at his mug shot. There ain't no love in that man. |
Oct-02-09
 | | Sneaky: A two-bit deadbeat, huh? That's pretty harsh.
I'm still on his good side--he's still calling me "bubs" and "big boy". But I think soon he'll be giving me the speech about how he should have his head examined for doing business with flunkies like me. |
Oct-02-09
 | | Sneaky: Wow look at this Nanjing: Rd 5: Pick Three it's the only time I've ever seen a selection have worse odds than Draw-Draw-Draw. White-Draw-Draw (Carlsen winning, all others drawing) came in at 7:2 but the triple-Draw was 4:1 !! Oh and by the way, White-Draw-Draw was the winner. Unbelievable. |
Oct-02-09 | | Bradah: Strange, the shark called me Pretty Boy.:o) |
Oct-07-09 | | yxcvbnm: no betting on european club cup?
why? |
Oct-08-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <yxcvbnm> From what I can see, the official site does not list the individual board pairings the day before the round, but they do have the team pairings. You can wager on the top two matches of round six: European Club Cup: Rd 6: Alkaloid Skopje vs Economist-SGSEU-1 Saratov
European Club Cup: Rd 6: Ural Svedrdlovskaya vs Mika Yerevan |
Oct-08-09 | | technical draw: Help, I don't have any chessbucks to bet on the Alkaloids and the loan shark won't return my calls! I think I need a drink. |
Oct-08-09 | | technical draw: Whoa! The above kibitz was TD's 8,000 kibitz! When will I get a life? |
Oct-10-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <technical draw> Congratulations, and thanks for consistently making me laugh! Also, kudos to you for your fantastic prediction from 2004: <Jan-26-04 technical draw: After reviewing the games of Magnus Carlsen from Corus 2004, I'm going to dare and say the following: The search for Bobby Fischer is over.> |
Oct-10-09 | | technical draw: Thanks, bookie. You run a great game here. Maybe we can set up a gig in Vegas where the big bucks are? |
Oct-12-09 | | dakgootje: oh how high the odds would have been if you had bet in 2004 magnus would be this good by now... :P <Maybe we can set up a gig in Vegas where the big bucks are?> In Vegas they don't give you a free $1000 to start off :( |
Oct-13-09 | | gus inn: But there are drinks for free in Vegas :) |
Oct-14-09
 | | eternaloptimist: Well, SwitchingQuylthulg is back in fine form. He has a huge lead on all of us yet again. |
Oct-14-09 | | technical draw: <eternaloptomist> <Well, SwitchingQuylthulg is back in fine form. He has a huge lead on all of us yet again.> Well you're not quite living up to your name I see. |
Oct-16-09
 | | eternaloptimist: <technical draw> Yes, but it is difficult to do that when a 3-time Chessbookie Game winner like him has a huge lead. :D Although, it is my goal to be optimistic in everything. |
Oct-16-09 | | technical draw: <eternaloptimist> You're right. I don't want to know how he wins I would just like to know how to pronounce his name! |
