 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <Tal Memorial: Rd 6: Morozevich vs Ivanchuk: First Move Nov-08-09 Nov-11-09 1.c4> Was this paid off (well maybe you can't call it paying off with no bets yet...) intentionally or by accident? |
|
Nov-09-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <SwitchingQuylthulg> That was an accident, please disregard that proposition. |
|
| Nov-10-09 | | dakgootje: <Could be the first time I'm over 3k in chessbucks...> I knew saying this would get back at me... bad karma etc ;) |
|
| Nov-10-09 | | danton205: when will be paid the tickets for Ivanchuk vs Carlsen 1st move and Anand vs Leko?? |
|
| Nov-15-09 | | dakgootje: Heh, the best odds I've ever seen here I think: A winning 10 chessbuck ticket
pays out 66440 chessbucks. [on Tkachiev as winner of the world blitz championship 09]. by the way, when does the winter leg start? Or is that kept secret on purpose? Or am I just terrible in searching for readily available information? About all options are equally possible :D |
|
Nov-15-09
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <dakgootje> ChessBookie probably hasn't even decided yet when this leg ends and the next starts, but it should pretty much coincide with the end of this year and the beginning of the next. |
|
| Nov-15-09 | | dakgootje: ah okay, thanks SQ! It has been long since I've been playing the bookie game seriously here, so my memory failed on how it was previous years :P |
|
| Nov-15-09 | | technical draw: Hey the loanshark called me "bubs". Now just because I owe him $4,000 doesn't mean he can get away with calling me names. I'm Mr. TD to you sharky so stop, uh, wait a minute I was only kidding, call me anything you want. Now put that away before somebody gets hurt (mainly me). |

I'm Mr. TD to you sharky so stop [...]> <TD> - here's a little trick for you... Offer Mr. Loanshark a Havana (you know what I'm talking about!). He's real nice to you then. :) I've heard through the grapevine, if you're fortunate enough to have the loose cash, that if you offer him a box of Cuban cigars (straight from the island), he'll triple your next loan. Guaranteed! :D Of course, it's all rumored and hear say from which I offer this info to you... ;) Who knows? It might work! ~lol~ :P
- Mal
PS: BTW: Offering him "GOLD" doesn't work... I've tried that already. :( His house (OK - "mansion") is full of that stuff! <grin> |

Nov-16-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <dakgootje> The fall leg ends around the end of December, probably the last bets will be on the FIDE World Cup. Refunds have been issued on the few tickets purchased on Zhou Jianchao who has dropped out of the World Blitz Championship. |

Nov-19-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Wagering is now open on the 2009 World Chess Cup: World Cup: Winner |

We need to be civilized here! :D Meanwhile, SQ is teaching us a lesson about how to play the CG Bookie game. How does he do it? |

Dec-07-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <Whitehat1963> Those are all good suggestions. We'll implement some of of those bets during the championship leg, next month. |
|
| Dec-08-09 | | Kreifi: This may have been asked before but why there is no change to "cash all winnings" as you can discard your losing tickets? I would like to see that! Not that I need it (if you look my balance) but I was just thinking that mayby Mal would like it. ;) And no, this is not just a joke.
PS. I won today some pretty cash... |

Not that I need it (if you look my balance) but I was just thinking that maybe Mal would like it. ;)> <Kreifi> - yes, every so often this becomes a subject of discussion here. :) We seem to all favor the idea of mass disposal of our loses (the sooner the better!). However, when it comes to our winning bets, we tend to favor taking it slow clicking on "one win" at a time! ~lol~ :P Secretly, I'm hoping that maybe by next year (since <CG.com> is so busy during the month of December with oodles & oodles of activity) that they might consider replacing the cool images we get when bets are won with new ones. :) Think I've seen them all from winning $1 to $10,000 and it would be so nice to see a change there in the near future. ;) <PS. I won today some pretty cash...> Keep it up. ;) I'll save a <BIG smile> for you when you're back in the BLACK! <*grin*> "Good Luck" to everyone in the final stretch of the <ChessBookie> Fall betting leg! :D My Best, - Mal
Belated PS added: <Mal: WoW! Either there is a 'bug' in the system or <chessgames.com> liked my post so much they gave it their 'stamp of approval' and posted my reply back to <Kreifi> if full! :DIn any case, thanks <ChessBookie & CG.com> it looks like I'm the one that will be <smiling> today! ;)> Anyway, that (belated PS above) was going to be my immediate follow-up. Then following proper procedure in such cases checked to see what was actually happening?! After testing on my c-forum (which listed <chessgames.com> as the poster) and checking their 'c-forum page' to discover that <CG.com> posts were indeed becoming rampant everywhere?! ~lol~ Then deleted my original post (credited to <CG.com> here as the poster) and have now reposted in full again as just plain old Mal. :)) |

| Dec-10-09 | | Touch of Knight: Howell you filled my pockets with chessbucks today! |

|
| Dec-16-09 | | malthrope: <Chessgames Bookie: <DCP23> Thanks, we have opened wagering on the tournament: [ Russian Championship Superfinal: Winner ]> Thanks too <ChessBookie> :) It also looks like the Women's Superfinals held in conjunction with the Men's event will feature this lineup (note: also reduced to just 10 player's): GM Tatiana Kosintseva , WGM/IM Nadezhda Kosintseva , WGM Natalia Pogonina , WGM/IM Alisa Galliamova-Ivanchuk , WGM Marina Romanko , WFM Valentina Gunina , WGM/IM Elena Zaiatz , WGM Tatiana Stepovaia-Dianchenko , WGM Anastasia Bodnaruk and WGM Maria Manakova My thanks also goes to <"BIDMONFA"> [ http://www.bidmonfa.com/ ] for supplying any additional info when the <CG.com> player's bio ran a little short. ;) <Chessgames Bookie: <DCP23> The only information that I have on the Russian Superfinal tournament is from Malthrope's profile where he credits you for providing him with details of the event. Can you (or anyone) confirm the list of participants so that I can put up a bet?> You actually peeked?! Why <ChessBookie> I'm impressed! ~lol~ ;) We should wait until <DCP23> gets a chance to review all of this in terms of any FIDE titles for the women player's above not 100% complete. I'm sure the <CG.com> player's links are correct though! :)) A very merry "Happy Holidays" to everyone and 'good luck' betting in the final stretch! :D My Seasonal Best, - Mal
PS: I believe the Russian Superfinals (both the Men's and Women's tourneys) have no Sofia rule in force... Which makes draws available at the 'drop of a dime!' ~lol~ Therefore, place your bets with extreme caution... o_O |
|
| Dec-16-09 | | DCP23: <malthrope: PS: I believe the Russian Superfinals (both the Men's and Women's tourneys) have no Sofia rule in force... Which makes draws available at the 'drop of a dime!'> Hmm... Not sure if this qualifies as full Sofia rules or not, but this is what the official regulation has to say on the issue: <III. [...] The Superfinal participants are forbidden to negotiate draws. A draw offer can only be made through the Chief Arbiter.> |
|
Dec-16-09
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <malthrope> Thanks for the info on the women's section. We have added a bet: Russian Women's Championship Superfinal: Winner. |
