cu8sfan: <Carlsen is probably the odds favorite because of emotional reasons. > Emotional reasons in betting almost always means odds that are way off. Good for the others. I have faith in van Wely earning me some chessbucks!

Chessgames Bookie: Betting is now open on individual games 2,3, and 4 of the Magnus Carlsen vs Loek Van Wely match.

Sneaky: It's funny how people are already putting money on games 3 and 4 of the Carlsen-Van Wely match. Me, I'd like to see how the first two games go before I make any predictions.

WannaBe: <Sneaky> I have already wagered on games 3, 4. Because I don't know what my work schedule is going to be like.

So I figured to get it in while I can.

Apr-28-06  percyblakeney: ...and there Sadvakasov won against Miro, my biggest bet of the day wasn't a good idea, but there will be time to get the bucks back tomorrow.

  cu8sfan: <WannaBe> work schedule? On a weekend? (-;
Apr-28-06  TIMER: I made a mistake betting on the draws when the odds were good enough to be covering each other. Since after I had bet and left, many others bet on the draws messing up that safety net!

By the way Carlsen lost his first game with black, so it is fairly unlikely for him to win the match now (he must score 2.5/3)

Apr-28-06  percyblakeney: In the first round of the Sigeman tournament Timman won against Berg, and Cicak against Hector, the other games were drawn.
Apr-28-06  percyblakeney: ...and with three rounds left in Gausdal, Rozentalis and Kulaots share the lead with 4/6.

Sneaky: I don't think you should visit the loanshark unless you have a really good reason to do so.

If you find yourself decimated after a string of bad luck, maybe visit the loanshark and buy one last longshot ticket for big money to try to get back into the game. (And if that fails, hang it up.)

I wish I could lend some of MY spare chessbucks to people at 1% per day. I'd win the game without ever making another bet.

Chessgames Bookie: Two new propositions available for Dubai -- Dubai Open: Rd 7 Bd 1: Sargissian vs Sadvakasov and Dubai Open: Rd 7 Bd 2: Petrosian vs Kacheishvili

But the hot one right now is tomorrow's Carlsen game: Carlsen vs Van Wely Match: Game 2: Carlsen-Van Wely

And we added an "exotic" for tomorrow's Carlsen game: Carlsen vs Van Wely Match: Game 2: Queenside castling

Apr-28-06  TIMER: <Sneaky> I don't think that you would win the game without making another bet. Actually you would only gain about 30% in 28 days with 1% interest a day, much less than many of us have achieved with our bets so far.

Once I had lost everything I actually did not go for a long-shot, but the daily short-shot results I expected, but putting them altogether would be a longshot I suppose.

Apr-28-06  Madman99X: Sadvakasov is going down.
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <chessgames bookie> How can the betting still be open on Game 2 of the Carlsen match when they are already on Move 17??
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: <Joshka> Interesting :-) Anyone wanting to make a certain win should bet everything they have on no queenside castling :-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: And betting is still open for queenside castling, although both players have castled kingside.
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <percyblakeney> Naw that would be cheating, he's gonna have to cancel these bets taken after the game has already started, if they can figure which ones were bet after......glitch in the system starting time I presume
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: I'm avoiding immoral bets... And that is even easier since there was no queenside castling. :-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Did yesterdays game start later?..it must have, and then they presumed today's game would start the same time, and got punked!:-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Now I'm going to "presume" something, I shouldn't..:-)....I'm sure <chessgames bookie> KNOWS what time the bets are made, and can cancel bets made after this game began..:-)
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: The bets on no queenside castling haven't increased from 1 469, let's see what happens with the game bets if Carlsen blunders a rook...
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: Game bets at the moment:

Carlsen 1 400
van Wely 750
Draw 1 949

Apr-29-06  Joshka: <Percyblakeney> Weren't you involved in the trial run on this betting system? I know <sneaky> was...they HAVE to know the exact times bets are made, I would think?.....move 17...d5
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Ahh well , what do you think?..shall we cheat?..and load up on no queenside castling?..;-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Okay 1469 bet on NO queenside castling....and damn over an hour still left to bet:-)
