Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: <Joshka> Yes, I was a beta tester, and I think it can be seen when bets are made. Otherwise it's always possible to cancel the bets on this game, I suppose...
Apr-29-06  Joshka: well, it's not really fair to cancel all bets on this game, just the ones made after the game already started.... I hope they have the time function working. This is really an entertaining feature by <chessgames.com> and I guess there will always be glitches with new ideas and systems. But it's kinda funny, to actual see the betting still available, and about an hour more to bet, when the game might be over and betting still available!:-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Think carlsen is about to win that pawn on e4 and get an advantage
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: Ouch. Cancel all bets :-)
Apr-29-06  TIMER: Someone has bet on no queen-side castling, it is 1849 now! So it may get tricky now, as will have to somehow cancel those bets.
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Well, everything is documented here, does <chessgames bookie> take the weekend off?..when I was an account manager for a security company most of my problems happened on weekends!LOL:-)
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <Timer> Okay the current handle of 4,099 for win, lose, draw, has not increased
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <Timer> Your in 2nd place! Congradulations!
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: Carlsen is crushing van Wely today, I predict a huge increase in bets soon...
Apr-29-06  Joshka: It'll be all over very soon, Carlsen has a winning position.
Apr-29-06  TIMER: <Joshka> Thanks. At the moment the competition is for second place as first is so much higher! I don't even know if 4000 will be enough for a top ten place by the time the season is out (two more months I think) so I might try for 5000 before I relax.
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: My 200 on a draw was based on a later start and that van Wely wouldn't be tired after having just awoken.
Apr-29-06  Joshka: Well the change in time will always affect the older player I presume. Wely is almost 34, more than twice this kids age! Wonder why he agreed to the early start time?
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: I'm trying to come up with a reason to declare all the bets invalid :-) But anyway I'm impressed that Carlsen wins this easily against van Wely after yesterday's rather weak showing.
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: Someone just bet on van Wely, not a good choice at the moment...
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: More bets on Carlsen too now, the good news is that my draw odds is increasing, the bad news is that van Wely is resigning any second.
Apr-29-06  TIMER: Maybe the bets will close after the game has finished!
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <Timer> <percyblakeney> Well gotta run, have a good day folks, I have a small amount on a tie match haven't bet on any individual game though. take care!
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: In the last game of the spring leg I suppose almost everyone will bet all that is left and all that can be gotten from the loanshark...
Apr-29-06  TIMER: <percyblakeny> Maybe everyone out of reach of the top ten, which is why I think we will need 5000+ to be safe!

cu8sfan: What did I miss? Some major cheating going on?
Apr-29-06  percyblakeney: <cu8sfan> The betting closed first after it was already clear that Carlsen was winning, not to mention the castling bets...
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <cu8sfan> I was up around 7 am-730am server time ....saw the Carlsen game in progress...they were on move 12 or 13...and noticed betting on this game was not going to close for another 3 hours....they must have started early, and the wagering was accepted all during the game.

cu8sfan: Too bad I missed it, I could use some more dough... Is that going to count?
Apr-29-06  Joshka: <cu8sfan> I can't believe you said that!....I would hope not, that's cheating, hope <chessgames bookie> can decipher the times that folks bet, and refund bets that took place after the game had started.
