| Oct-04-10 | | YouRang: I agree with <hms123>. Why should extensions (which are a normal part of the game) trigger a refund?! I see no reason for this at all. |
Oct-04-10
 | | Chnebelgrind: Congratulatons to your victory <Robin01>. Given your regular appearence on the leaderbord that was only a question of time. |
Oct-04-10
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Congrats <Robin01>... Didn't quite manage to knock myself out of the qualifying spots in the last round, though the attempt was good ;-) |
| Oct-04-10 | | Robin01: <Chnebelgrind><SwitchingQuylthulg>Thanks. |
Oct-04-10
 | | moronovich: Congrats to <Robin01>.Everyone who reaches such a high score is the deserved winner. And special kudos to <wordfunph> who is some kind of moralbooster here on CG.And someone who wanted it real bad .;) See you all in the final. |
| Oct-04-10 | | wordfunph: yesssssss! just like in chess, patience and perseverance pay dividends and i finally made it to the hall of fame! in chessbookie, i spent hours evaluating for possible winning bets with a handy betting list whenever i go harhar!
my daily mood depends on my net chessbucks.. :)
<moronovich> thank you for your kind and encouraging words.. i would like to thank my two Bookie Maestros <Winter> and <Chnebelgrind> for my top ten finish.. and to <malthrope> for making me smile reading his bookie kibz.. and to the regulars like <Switch> <edsauced> <technicaldraw> <Slovice> <Barok> <others>.. Congrats <Robin01> and to all the winners! special thanks to <CG Bookie>, ChessBookie rocks! yahoooooo! :-) |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: <This isn't reasonable. I placed this bet weeks ago in more than a timely manner. Why are the bets being refunded?> You are right, this is entirely unreasonable. My sincere apologies--this was a complete mistake. It was actually a case of me trusting my watch, which apparently is a few minutes fast. As I was refunding the bets, the clock *really* struck 2:00pm, and then her move appeared. Mea culpa. If this error prevented somebody from qualifying for the Championship, like if say the 11th place would have been the 9th place due to this error, then we may have to make an exceptional ruling to let an extra person into the finals. Unfortunately it is very difficult to assess the situation--the software has no way to easily rectify a situation of an accidental refund. However we have detailed logfiles of all transactions so if somebody has a legitimate case we'd be able look up their specific case and try to make a determination. <In summary> If you honestly think your Pogonina bet might have locked you out of the top 10 list please let us know and we will investigate your case specifically. However, under no circumstances will we forfeit anybody announced as a winner. |
| Oct-05-10 | | wordfunph: <Chessgames Bookie: However, under no circumstances will we forfeit anybody announced as a winner.> thank you <CGB>!
i placed $1,500 for Bb7 and turned out to be Ba6..
i owe my top 10 spot to your watch.. :-) |
| Oct-05-10 | | Barok Espinosa: <The World vs Pogonina: 10...? : Ba6 [collect refund] 170 REFUND 170 1.00 170 Sep-20-10> Ouch! My $170 bet won $170! :0)
Congratulations to <Robin01> and to all qualifiers! |
Oct-05-10
 | | Chnebelgrind: <Barok> That loses you 650$. Not enough to catch me :). I also would have won about 120$. I had 700 on Bb7 but 225 on Ba6 as well! |
| Oct-05-10 | | SloVice: <wordfunph>
I must also thank <CGB>'s watch and generosity! I had $500 for Bb7. |
Oct-05-10
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> You should probably check if <Mazinger Z> has a case, as it seems he'd have passed <wordfunph> and therefore made the top 10 simply by not losing a heap. (If he doesn't have a case, <moronovich> might; but <moronovich> is qualified anyhow.) |
Oct-05-10
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Our programmer is reviewing the logfiles--we aren't quite done yet but we can give a preliminary report. Sadly for <Mazinger Z> the confusion with the final bet can't qualify him, for he had all his eggs in the Bb7 basket. His ranking would have been worse if the bet went through. <Graf Zeppelin> would have been much closer to first place with his clever 300 c$ bet on ...Ba6, but still nowhere close to the untouchable <Robin01>. The case of <moronovich> is compelling--he had no bets at all on the Pogonina move. It is starting to look like he would have been closer to 10th place but still not quite there. Because moronovich is already qualified the question could be regarded as unimportant, but if he truly deserves to be on the Hall of Fame page for this leg we would not want to unfairly strip him of that honor. Once this is settled we'll get on to the Fall leg. Good luck! |

 | | moronovich: <CB> I will naturally respect any decission of yours. As to me the mainpoint is fairness. And if that means I have to step a little behind it is perfectly fine with me. Have you considered to create the highly popular <pick three> at team events, like e.g. the olympiad !? And thanks for your effort about running this game ! |
Oct-06-10
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: By my count, if <moronovich> stays put and <wordfunph> loses c$1500, then <moronovich> should make the top 10. (Does <wordfunph> really lose c$1500?) |
| Oct-06-10 | | wordfunph: <SwitchingQuylthulg: (Does <wordfunph> really lose c$1500?)> yes <Switch>, i lost $1,500 on my Bb7 bet. <CB> programmers can validate on this. |
| Oct-06-10 | | wordfunph: <CB> i can slide down outside the magic 10 should you decide to make the final 10 but please let me know so i can save my short-lived runner-up fame below (sob).. ChessBookie Hall of Fame
<moro> deserves to be in the magic 10.. |
Oct-06-10
 | | moronovich: If it could be in tune with fairness I would refrain from the #10 spot and hand it to <wordfunph>.He deserves it IMO.And he worked really hard to get there as I was merely cruising..
And I have already qualified. |
| Oct-06-10 | | technical draw: <moronovich> If we're going to do some spot switching maybe someone would want to switch with me. I'm in the coveted 322nd spot and will gladly cede it to an eighter or a niner. And I really worked hard to get there not cruising like others. How about it? |
| Oct-06-10 | | YouRang: Well, the quick refund boo boo probably cost me a spot in the top 20. :-( Water under the bridge... |
| Oct-06-10 | | YouRang: <Chessgames Bookie> Lucky for you, we are only gambling with imaginary "chessbucks". Therefore, I sending one of my thugs over to riddle cg.com headquarters with imaginary "chessbullets". |
Oct-06-10
 | | eternaloptimist: Congrats to the top 10 & especially to Robin01 for winning this leg. That's 2 legs in a row where the winner came out of nowhere to win it.
<SwitchingQuylthulg: Didn't quite manage to knock myself out of the qualifying spots in the last round, though the attempt was good ;-)> lol! |
| Oct-07-10 | | bharatiy: dont we need to start new leg with Bilbao on this Saturday. |
Oct-07-10
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <bharatiy: dont we need to start new leg with Bilbao on this Saturday.> We do, and we did!
Wagers will appear soon. Good luck to all! |
| Oct-08-10 | | Henryaw: Thanks to Chessgame Bookie. I very like gambling without real money!! |
