Aug-27-10  malthrope: <Chessgames Bookie: <malthrope> You are right, our intention was to close the betting before the event had begun, but since it is too late to do that now and the match is even anyhow, we will leave the closing time alone.>

Yes <ChessBookie> it's quite fortunate that Leko brought the match back to even. As, if Gelfand had won either game #3 or #4 and drew the other (thus building a substantial early lead).

Then this bet: Leko-Gelfand Rapid Match: WINNER ...would have broken eggs slowly dripping from it.

Not a very pretty sight, I'm afraid. ~lol~ ;)

Best Always, - Mal

PS: Thanks for adjusting the "PAY" date back to Aug 29th. :)

Sep-04-10  technical draw: Well, looky here. <Midas Touch> is dead last. Excuse me but wasn't Midas the dude that could change everything to gold by a mere touch? You better do some touching Midas and get out of the cellar. (and while you're at it give me a hand..hahahaha!)
Sep-06-10  technical draw: Thanks for that Midas Touch. I picked up 4,000 cb's this round!
Sep-07-10  technical draw: Also picked up 2,000 cb's this round. 6,000 cb's in two days. I'm almost on the leaderboard after a time in the nether regions.
Sep-07-10  wordfunph: i lost 2,150 huh! goodbye leaderboard.. :)
Sep-07-10  technical draw: <wordfunph> your avatar fits well with your last post!
Sep-07-10  wordfunph: <TD> harhar! :-)
Sep-08-10  technical draw: Yipes! I dropped 2 grand today! Oh, well I'm still in the black.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> No betting on women this time?
Sep-15-10  wordfunph: ho!ho!ho! <Switch> as Santa, he may be giving away chessbucks in the Olympiad betting before the Summer Leg ends.. :-)
Sep-16-10  technical draw: Glad to see the bookie took my advice and set up betting on GM Pogonina's move in the challenge game. I need some action cause I'm way behind.
Sep-16-10  technical draw: ...And I promptly lose $100 on my first Pogonina bet.

eternaloptimist: Well, I've got the same number of kibitzes as I do chessbucks (775). That shows that I've got a lot of balance in my life. I just wish that I had a lot more chessbucks! :D @<td> lol
Sep-22-10  technical draw: Hey, a sure bet! Bet on Bosnia $ Herzegovina. That dollar sign is a dead giveaway.
Sep-26-10  technical draw: Lordy, lord this is bad. I'm in 234th place. Behind even someone named <pmosteo>. A user who's been here a year and has never kibitzed. Probably because he doesn't have a keyboard. How can I be behind some one that doesn't even own a keyboard?

hey, hey, yeah you, brother, spare change?

Sep-26-10  wordfunph: <TD> harhar! so long as we enjoy bookie, we're all here to amass chessbucks. 9th to 10th place still up for grabs.. just like chess ---fight and survive! enjoy and have fun..
Sep-26-10  gauer: Due to the Olympiad, if Natalia takes a 2nd extension, the leg window would expect to close before a hypothetical 2nd extension ends. Would the leg stay open until the ticket pays, or is a refund more likely?

Asking because it helps determine whether users wish to extend another loan for other (in this case Olympiad) plays. A leg calendar of potential betting events could be a helpful advertisement, but are nonetheless appreciative of your great services.

Finally, when a player mistakenly bets twice or tries to amend a surcharge (within the cap limit) on a 2nd bet, is there any easy way to prevent the user from doing so? Occasionally, a user browses to the link again to refresh the handle on a ticket that is still open.

Sep-27-10  AnimusEtOblivio: I am crossing my finger that the Pogo bet doesn't pay off til next leg. With a bet on Ba6, I am starting to have serious doubts about my choice after seeing all the analysis.

♔ ANNOUNCEMENT ♔

Due to the extensions in the Chessgames Challenge, the The World vs Pogonina: 10...? bet will be settled on Monday, September 4th, if she moves by 2:00pm EDT. If she does not move by that time, all wagers will be refunded. This means that winners of this leg will not be announced until Monday afternoon.

We know what you mean -- all we can say is to be careful; never double-click, try to "click forward" instead of going back pages. You can always get to the main Chessbookie page by clicking on the giant banner at the top and from there you can get back to anywhere.

Oct-01-10  wordfunph: thanks <CG Bookie>..

good luck to all!

Oct-04-10  4tmac: Another exciting finish!
Oct-04-10  wordfunph: <robin01> was the highest gainer at the closing ceremony of Olympiad with $13,888!
