|
| Aug-20-10 | | bluejay: It's really not a question of patience but of integrity - living up to the commitments one makes. I am just a little player who, as was mentioned above, need prompt payouts. |

<CGBookie> may not be working full-time in CG. Please extend your extra patience to him. <CGBookie>, please be punctual.. |

 | | Sneaky: <235th - <Sneaky> (1st Summer 2007) - Must be having an off-leg.> Yeah, I'm an all-or-nothing kind of player.
Here's a little gambling anecdote, completely true as far as I understand: The famous poker player Stu Unger was said to have gone broke a lot in early stages of poker tournaments. He would try to double up his money, then double it again, and then once he had a sizable stack he could control the tables. So a good 75% of the time he'd go bust in the first few hours and not make a penny, but that other 25% of the time he'd take an early lead and coast to 1st place. Once he had about twice the chips of other players at the table he was utterly unstoppable. He died during a one of the major poker tournaments, a big multi-day event. Sadly, a maid found him overdosed on cocaine in his hotel room. As the rules provide, they kept his stack of chips in front of his seat even in his absence, and they would take the antes and blinds out of his stack even though he wasn't there to play. Amazingly, the deceased Stu Unger had such a huge lead that even without being there to play, he placed high enough in the tournament to win a sizable amount of money. The winnings were turned over to his estate. |

| Aug-25-10 | | technical draw: Wow, <sneaky>, great story. I can see the movie title: "Dead Man Playing". In the hold-em sites where you can play for fun I usually get killed so I'm going to change my user name to Dead Man Playing. |
|
| Aug-25-10 | | crawfb5: <TD> I thought that would be your online handle for <sudden death> time controls. |
|
| Aug-25-10 | | technical draw: <crawfb5> I've never played <sudden death> but "dead man walking" would sound like a good handle. I hope nobody steals it. |
|
| Aug-25-10 | | technical draw: Darn! There was bet on the game Guseinov-Golizadeh. I put all my money on black thinking it was Godzilla. What a maroon! |
|
| Aug-25-10 | | malthrope: <chessgames.com> & <ChessBookie> - you have this bet: Leko-Gelfand Rapid Match: WINNER
Closing on Aug 28th (just prior to scheduled match games #5 & #6 on that day) with a payoff (settlement date) one full day after the match concludes. Thinking this wasn't your original intention you might want to first fix this bet to simultaneously close with the Gelfand-Leko, match game #3 bet: Match Game 3: Gelfand vs Leko
Which ends at 6:05 AM EDT (apx) tomorrow on Aug 26th. Then you can adjust the correct payoff date (now set at Aug 30th) to Aug 29th (at the conclusion of the 8 game match) which should end no later than 4 PM EDT. :D TIA! ;)
My Best, - Mal |

Aug-26-10
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <malthrope> You are right, our intention was to close the betting before the event had begun, but since it is too late to do that now and the match is even anyhow, we will leave the closing time alone. |
