| Jun-22-11 | | dakgootje: Congrats to all winners! Pity you didn't make it TD
Next leg I shall compete from the start - instead only/mainly the last tournament :P Had forgotten how much fun the pick-3 was! |
| Jun-22-11 | | fionas88888: <Animus> <Ah, it is so difficult to make bets on these games, since I know so little about Chinese players. Half of me says to just wait for a super GM tournament, while the other half needs its fix of ChessBookie, and it needs it now!> *If you know so little about Chinese players, research it up on Wikipedia and go onto FIDE's website to find out about their rating, track stuff and eccetra. *Waiting for a Super GM tournament is not such a good idea, you could lose your chance to gain a lot of chessbucks for winning. *ChessBookie does not need a fix. Period. |

 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Congrats to everyone in the top 10, especially <wallytherhino>! Hopefully I've now used up my quota of second places, at least for this year... |
| Jun-22-11 | | dakgootje: <*ChessBookie does not need a fix. Period.> Nor did Animus say that ;)
<Hopefully I've now used up my quota of second places, at least for this year...> Let's make a deal; you can place first - while I take over your second place :D |

Jun-22-11
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <dakgootje> Sure! Go ahead, dominate most of the summer leg, impress the girl. Interestingly, <Sneaky>, myself and <Robin01> all got our record 8th top 10 finishes this leg. |
| Jun-22-11 | | technical draw: Since I am a sore loser I will not congratulate the winners. No sir, I won't say "well done" to <wallytherhino> who led almost since day one. Or to <switchy> who was always in the running or to my nemesis <sneaky> who always seems to sneak in. No, "great playing, guys" from me, no way. I'm just going to crawl into my hole and eat my sour grapes. Just kidding, congratulations to all the winners! |
| Jun-23-11 | | wordfunph: better late than never, congrats to all the winners and to our Leg Champ <wallytherhino>! |
| Jun-24-11 | | SloVice: Nicely done <wallytherhino>! Same goes for all the other top finishers. What happened <td>? You were so close. My score: The horror! The horror! |
| Jun-24-11 | | technical draw: <What happened <td>? You were so close.> I thought you would get special prize for finishing 13th. |
| Jun-28-11 | | AnimusEtOblivio: <fionas88888> I doesn't seem you quite understood my points sufficiently. Firstly, research will tell you a little about players, but not a whole lot. By following top GMs, I have learned about their playing styles, their personalities and their quirks. Knowing these things makes me comfortable betting on their games. These things cannot be learned from research, but from familiarity. Secondly, by waiting for a tourmament you are familiar with, you do bypass some opportunities, but here is the thing. If you bet when you are unsure, you are much more likely to lose money than otherwise. I know I can do well betting on players I am familar with. It is only logical to pass up betting on a risky payout, in order to bet on a more likely prospect. It is easy to get a lot of money on a few goods bets; but a few bad bets with often keep you in the whole for a long while. Lastly, you didn't seem to quite understand my last statement. "Needing a fix of ChessBookie" is not saying that it there is anything wrong with Chessbookie at all. By needing a "fix", it is comparing it to something addictive, which I am crazing a dose of. ---
With that aside, congrats to the winners of this leg. <Wally> played the leg beautifully, so a special congrats to him. Best of luck to all in the Summer leg! |

| Jul-02-11 | | technical draw: How did <Chnebelgrind> lose $1 ? |
Jul-02-11
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Sounds like an incomprehensible loan - I guess he feels the game is too easy and he needs to give us a handicap :) |
Jul-02-11

 | | Chnebelgrind: When does the Summer Leg end? |
Jul-03-11
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: September 21 probably, so we can finish with the World Cup and start the next leg with Bilbao. |
Jul-03-11
 | | Chnebelgrind: Too bad! I hoped it would end as long as I am on position one, with one buck less than the rest BTW. I will not be in town Jul-27 to Aug-18 and from Sep-01 to Sep-17. So I will concentrate on the Fall Leg. |
