Penguincw: < wordfunph: <Peng> good morning..

maybe CGB's silence means YES :) >

Hopefully it's yes. :) I could use any bet to bump into the top 10.

Dec-13-11  wordfunph: <Penguincw: Hopefully it's yes. :) I could use any bet to bump into the top 10.>

<Peng> tough task! the top 10 are usually reserved for the bigwigs like Chnebel, Switch, moronovich, Animus, Barok, wallytherhino, technical draw, Robin, 4tmac, Sneaky and others i fail to mention.

anyway, let's give them a good fight :)

Dec-14-11  brankat: Is it known when this current leg is supposed to end? Thank You.
Dec-14-11  number 23 NBer: I'd have to say I wouldn't personally mind if the leg ended now- what other big tournaments are left this year?

Chnebelgrind: <what other big tournaments are left this year?> http://www.poloniachess.pl/amplico2...

Dec-14-11  technical draw: The women's world team championship should be next. I'm all in for India. China and Russia are also teams to beat.
Dec-14-11  wordfunph: <number 23 NBer: I'd have to say I wouldn't personally mind if the leg ended now- what other big tournaments are left this year?>

ohhh no.. :(

Dec-14-11  technical draw: I can understand why you don't want the leg to end right now <wordfunph>. That 11th spot is the worse one in all the standings, worse than last place. So another leg will be good for you since you can't get any worse than you are now. If there is another round then good luck...
Dec-14-11  wordfunph: thank you <technical draw>..

in general, CGB makes an announcement before the leg to end but up to this point --- still no hint from CGB :)

Dec-15-11  brankat: It's been three days since the London tournament ended. One would think it's a sufficient time for the Bookie to make up his mind.

Penguincw: Maybe he's gone on vacation with his "juice".
Dec-15-11  brankat: That wouldn't come as a surprise.

Penguincw: How much did he even make? I "bet" he made around 100,000.

Penguincw: Still no new bets. :( Reasons could be:

a) He retired for some reason.

b) He's on vacation.

c) The leg is over.

d) No tournament is available.

e) Any combination of the above.

f) Some other reason.

It may have been only a few days, but will 3,470 chessbucks I could spend it on ANYTHING (except charged with a loan).

Dec-16-11  bubuli55: So I gather there are no set dates or tourneys for the legs. I guess the mystery adds up to the guesswork and excitement and play out of strategies :)

GL to all :)

Dec-16-11  bubuli55: I think mr bookie took a vacation. I wish he'd let us know when to be back :)

hey I'm new here. But I'm catching on...:)

Dec-16-11  wordfunph: ey guys, how 'bout a side bet?

A.) LCC is not the last tourney for this leg

B.) CGB will close the leg as soon as he's back

my 4,570 chessbucks on A!

Dec-17-11  bubuli55: A makes sense. < wordz > were you all in on that last round?

Odds table.

Winner Pool Example

LCC is not the last tournament. 4,570 A winning 100 chessbucks ticket pays out 100 chessbucks.

Leg ends with bookie comes back. 0 A winning 0 chessbucks ticket pays out 0 chessbucks.

Dec-18-11  scout118: THANK YOU, Chessgames Bookie, for doing such a thankless job. Merry Christmas & enjoy your holidays. When you get back, let's get on with the winter leg!
Dec-18-11  dakgootje: I'd do a thankless job as well - if that earned me 100k every 3 months.
Dec-18-11  bubuli55: See you guys next year :)

Happy Holidays!

Dec-18-11  brankat: See You in the next leg :-)

Is the leg over? If it were, there would be announcement like this:

< "Congratulations to User: number 23 NBer for winning the fall leg. The winter leg will start in a few days." >

instead of

< "Congratulations to Kramnik for his fabulous London Classic performance." >
