Dec-19-11  technical draw: <Pen> Hey, thats dangerous. You don't lump "Big A" Fortunato with no one. Just ask Chump Change Charlie from Vegas...
Dec-20-11  wordfunph: what's life without chessbookie?

Dull.

Dec-20-11  technical draw: From the chessbookie info page:

<If you're really good, you'll see your name in lights on our Leaderboard for others to admire.>

I'm tired of being admired, I want to bet, gamble, throw my money away, whatever. Just set up a game.

Dec-20-11  dakgootje: Is that.. Is that him? Really?

No waaaayy!

Yes it is! I swear!

<<<<<<<<TD!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm your #1-biggest fan! Can I have your autograph on this note of $20???

Dec-20-11  technical draw: < Can I have your autograph on this note of $20???>

Sure, as long as it's your $20 and not mine...

Dec-20-11  dakgootje: Curses, foiled again.

  chessgames.com: Hi folks:

First, our apologies for the lapse in action. The Chessgames Bookie had to excuse himself from the game for personal reasons.

Daniel Freeman will take over Chess Bookie for the remainder of this leg. We hope to put bets up shortly.

As I'm not so skilled at doing this, if you could supply information about what there is to bet on (especially links to pairings) it would be greatly appreciated.

This leg normally ends on January 1st but if we can't get a few good rounds of betting in before then, we will extend it into early January.

Thanks for all of your patience, and Merry Christmas.

Dec-25-11  scout118: @chessgames.com attn Daniel Freeman. It's winter so why not just start the Winter Leg! We all played fair and square so let's get it on. Those in the top ten should be rewarded and let's move on. Let number 23 Nbr be declared the fall champ. If you're not that experienced in how this thing works, then you could just screw things up for everyone! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Hmm. Let's see. Here's what I'm thinking. There's still a tournament or two left. After that, there's a gap in tournaments. Then Tata Steel starts. Why not finish those remaining tournaments and then start the Winter Leg. We want to give everyone some time to register but if we have to squeeze those tournaments in the winter leg, most people might not have enough time to register. That's just what I'm thinking. You might have a different opinion.

Me too. It's been 2 weeks now since the last bet. :(

chessgames.com: OK, here's the plan: we are going to cover the last few rounds of the WWCT (including Ukraine-China starting in just a few hours). Then Reggio Emilia will take place Dec 27-Jan 6. We'll look for other bets as well, but tentatively Jan 6th will be the closing date for this leg. This should give everybody plenty of time to jockey for position before the final standings are announced.

Your usual Bookie will be back in action in a week or so to start things off for the championship. Again we apologize for the lapse in action.

Chnebelgrind: WWCT Rd 9 is well underway. Russia-Armenia all games drawn. India-China 3 games drawn and betting is still open for 1.5 hours.
