Dec-27-11  dakgootje: Apparently rounds started 5 hours earlier. So that's quite much

Suppose all round-9 bets will be refunded [or everyone would now just max-bet the draw at russia-armenia]

Aww. I made a small profit of 130 chessbucks. And now I will have 0? I'm not sure if chessgames.com can do this, but they can just look through their logfile and whoever bet ANYTHING past whenever the games started get refund and everyone else got whatever they deserved. That's just my opinion. However, with bookie away, I think it would be easier for you to just refund everything (except Reggio Emilia: WINNER, of course, which closes in 20 minutes). Your choice.

Dec-27-11  wordfunph: i believe CGB regulated a refund only to those who placed bets when the games started. Precedent rules.

Chnebelgrind: Acid test for the deputy bookie!
At least 850 c$ came in for the tie and 800 for Russia (!), when the tie was already certain.

Yah. A little while ago, I was looking at some posts on the forum (from the beginning) and saw one that had three options from <cg>. First was refund all. Second was refund whoever bet late. Third was let all bets stand. I hope they go with option 2. If they went Option 1, it would rob me. :(

were betting was open during play.

What happened exactly?

chessgames.com: No problem, we refunded all bets on the WWCT that came in after Dec 27th 03:00:00 and paid the rest. The pools of course were recomputed, the correct odds are shown on the pages WWCT Rd 9: RUSSIA vs ARMENIA and WWCT Rd 9: CHINA vs INDIA. We have software that does exactly that.

With that settled, who has links to Reggio Emilia pairings?

Dec-27-11  wordfunph: CG, i have only two tickets and all won.. i placed my bets 12 hrs before round 9. It is unfair if you cancel all bets coz this is a critical stage of the homestretch. I was still groggy from fever when i placed my bets. I badly need chessbucks, thank you..

Chnebelgrind: In <San Sebastian: WINNER> I miss a betting option "OTHER". The official list of participants contains 93 players, 21 of them with an ELO-rating over 2600.

chessgames.com: <Chnebelgrind: In <San Sebastian: WINNER> I miss a betting option "OTHER". The official list of participants contains 93 players> Oh really, we thought they had an "A Group" with those names alone.

The only fair way to handle that bet now is to refund all bets if one of the listed players does not finish 1st.

Ok. Another suggestion. Is it possible to add Pick 3 for Reggio Emilia? I think it would stir up the standings if we do. Or maybe a Daily Double.

Dec-29-11  dakgootje: Weird - I thought I had much better odds on the draw earlier on at Caruana-Ivanchuk [when the betting had already closed]

Not that it matters, as chucky won, but still quite strange.

Penguincw: Groan. Caruana can't hold the endgame.
