<Go <dakkie>, this leg is yours > It is! You made already 8000. There are only 37000 more left to make as <TD> explained earlier. But you can do it. Only keep en eye on <AnimusEtOblivio>, <SwitchingQuylthulg> and <technical draw> in particular

  SwitchingQuylthulg: ...and <Chnebelgrind> :-)
Jan-18-12  technical draw: Right, Switch, <Chnebelgrind> means keep an eye on <Animus>, <Switch> and <TD> while I sneak up and win!
Jan-18-12  AnimusEtOblivio: This race is already so interesting!

My bets for the tournament has been pretty solid so far, so I am tempted to say that I am in my rhythm. However, I have a feeling that everything will got to pieces once I start making significant bets.

The margin is still wide, but that just means that there is still much fun to be had!

Jan-18-12  dakgootje: We'll see how high I'll get. Perhaps I go on a bad streak and plummet down from here on.

Liked a lot of bets yesterday, so had 7200 on the line. Don't fancy much for tomorrow yet - so my total amount is still in the hundreds.

It depends for a lot on the available odds.. the rest on the outcomes - and they have been terrific ;)

Jan-18-12  technical draw: Well I took out my first loan, $5,000. That's cause I have 2 grand bet for tomorrow and if I lose the shark will offer me less. Always borrow before the results are in.
Jan-18-12  TheFocus: If I double my money every round from here on, I will have over $360,000 cb at the end of this tournament.

Get ready you $10,000+ bettors, here I come!!

Of course, if I lose everything tomorrow, you guys are safe.

Till the next leg!

Jan-19-12  dakgootje: Alright -I confess- I couldn't resist.

though I didn't want to bet too much - I've still got 4055 on the line..

SwitchingQuylthulg: OK, so <dakkie>'s sitting on his hands this round... what about our other leaders?
Jan-19-12

Penguincw: A pool of more than 30000 chessbucks on Carlsen-Giri. Giri plays off odds of 18+.

Chnebelgrind: <what about our other leaders?> For your information: the large sum coming in on Carlsen half an hour before closing time wasn't mine. But the reaction on the draw could have been <Switch> I only lose some loose change and will stay over 20000
Jan-19-12  dakgootje: Small loss for me as well, something between 100 and 150 if memory serves.

Was close to betting the draw at Carlsen-Giri - but I don't really like betting against Carlsen to win. Love how he plays - so I like to root for him ;) Especially the case when he's white. And when he plays against an opponent who is willing to play.

Was really surprised with Gelfand and Ivanchuk winning - had quite some bucks against both.

SwitchingQuylthulg: I failed to triple my net worth this round :(

<Chnebelgrind: For your information: the large sum coming in on Carlsen half an hour before closing time wasn't mine. But the reaction on the draw could have been <Switch> >

It wasn't me - I already had so much money on that draw I didn't feel like throwing in any more just then :)

(I thought it was multiple people, including the one who made the big Carlsen bet... could be wrong of course.)

Jan-19-12  technical draw: I picked up 500cbs today thanks to Gelfand. It's chump change but better than losing.
Jan-19-12  Pyke: Took a big hit today ...
