Jan-23-12  dakgootje: Are they the ones spreading sand everywhere after swimming in the pool?
Jan-23-12  technical draw: <dak> Uh, you got the wrong pool there...

Penguincw: With the rest day, people have more time to get their wagers in. In Round 8, we had 100,744 chessbucks wagered. In Round 9, we have 102,293 chessbucks wagered. The bets havn't even closed yet nor have I made my wager, which will increase the combined pool by almost 1%.

If you're going to bet on draws anyway, you might as well give the market time to digest your wagers :-)

Hmph. I guess I give out what I bet on, too much...

P.S. And yes, I will give them time. More than 12 hours. :)

Jan-24-12  technical draw: I got the pick 3 and Karjakin win. Giving me more than 10,000 and passing the sandbaggers.

  SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> Ivanchuk beat Giri!
Jan-24-12  dakgootje: ssshhhhhh

no he didn't! Definitely a draw that was!

heh, if only. Would've made a profit in that case.

Jan-24-12  fan of chess: i went 5 4 9 on my 1st try!
Jan-24-12  technical draw: <fan of chess> How much did you wager? It looks like you only bet 1 chessbuck at even money odds.
Jan-24-12  fan of chess: technical draw, i wagered 166 on each outcome by taking out a 500 loan with 1500 chessbucks. then i divided by 9 bets and got 166 per bet.
Jan-24-12  technical draw: <fan of chess> Welcome to the high rollers club!

Penguincw: Awesome. I wagered 1510 and went 4/4. No tricky bets required. That profitted me 702. :) Also, I see that over 22,000 chessbucks were wagered in Tata Steel Rd 9: Carlsen-Karjakin on Karjakin NOT winning. So, I could jump some places. :)
Jan-24-12  wordfunph: <technical draw: I got the pick 3 and Karjakin win. Giving me more than 10,000 and passing the sandbaggers.>

<TD> grats!

i'm closing to the place that stinks :(

Jan-24-12  AnimusEtOblivio: Man, I have been steamrolled these last few rounds. Time to go for broke.
Time to go out with a bang.
Jan-24-12  fan of chess: thank you technical draw.

Penguincw: About 151,573* wagered for Round 9 alone. Total wager this leg so far: 877,486* chessbucks (Round 10 not counted) over 77* bets, averaging about 11,000* a bet. Amazing.

*Stats may not be correct. :)

Jan-25-12  LDJ: Yesterday I thought I had won because the longest game was Ivanchuk-Giri, only to find out later that Carlsen and Karjakin were finished earlier, but had actually played 3 moves more than Giri and Ivanchuk. :( So now I have borrowed some money from the loanshark...
Jan-25-12  technical draw: Thanks to Caruana and Kamsky I'll pick up a grand today. At this pace I can only hope for a top ten finish.
Jan-25-12  NakoSonorense: <About 151,573* wagered for Round 9 alone.> I'm putting close to 4,000 of that pool in my pocket and running away.

Penguincw: I'm near the top of the "non-qualifiers" for this leg and dropped around 50. However, with Aronian and Ivanchuk in first and second respectively, I'm hoping they can hold that.

Tata Steel: Quinella (A group) : Aronian-Ivanchuk [info] 2 LIVE BET 54:1 55.25 110 Jan-29-12

That should make me profit my long range bets.

Jan-25-12  fan of chess: waaa. i went 2 4 8 with now a total of 5 4 17 or something like that.
Jan-25-12  technical draw: In the group of non bettors (so far) the ones we must watch out for are:

Calcium
number 23 NBer
Selkirk
ddaniell
CRISMELDRE

The other 3 are probably not going to bet since they haven't made an appearance for a while.

I would be very afraid of <number 23 NBer>.

Jan-25-12  technical draw: The above advice courtesy of <El Predicto>...
Jan-25-12  wordfunph: recovered a bit in round 10..

+$3,500 to my wallet, courtesy of four black victories :)
