| May-09-06 | | JOHNNY YORK: When you make a bet at certain odds, are you locked into those odds? I bet nadtisch over carlsen and the odds were 1:406. since I made a bet does it stay at those odds or does my bet cahnge with the odds change? |

 | | cu8sfan: <JOHNNY YORK> Every bet changes the odds. It's like the stock market. For more information check out the ChessBookie Game Help Page. If you want to be pretty sure what your odds are the only way to go is to bet at the very last second. Kinda like e-Bay. |
| May-09-06 | | JOHNNY YORK: COOL THANKS |
| May-09-06 | | percyblakeney: Today's bets:
500 on draw in Naiditsch-Nisipeanu: Good odds, and it feels like a 75% chance. 200 on Malakhov: OK odds and Predojevic was enormously lucky yesterday. Malakhov is the much better player and even if draw is slightly more probable the odds was bad... |

Bosna Sarajevo Tournament: Rd4: Nisipeanu vs Predojevic
Bosna Sarajevo Tournament: Rd4: Sasikiran vs Malakhov |

May-09-06
 | | WannaBe: I'll wager on round 5 after I see how I do with my round 4. =) Daddy needs a new pair of shoes! |
May-09-06
 | | WannaBe: Hum... so far every country has been wagered on, except Belarus, 37th Chess Olympiad: Gold Medal I still can't find this 'OTHER' country on my atlas. =) |
| May-10-06 | | percyblakeney: The odds on Sasikiran and Naiditsch were tempting today, over 5 and close to 8 times the money. But I stuck with my one bet, 300 on Nisipeanu. Predojevic is by far the weakest player in the field and if he isn't going undefeated through the whole tournament he ought to lose with black against his strongest opponent... |
| May-10-06 | | acirce: Similarly to <percyblakeney>'s reasoning I put money on Nisipeanu, Sasikiran and Malakhov. And a draw in Carlsen-Naiditsch upon that. |
| May-10-06 | | JOHNNY YORK: i bet 1600 draw on naid and sas and I won, that's 3800 chessbucks, that should put me on the leader board |
| May-10-06 | | cuendillar: Is it allowed to bet on more than one outcome of a certain event, ie "white win or draw"? |
| May-10-06 | | suenteus po 147: <cuendillar> Yes, it's allowed. In fact, this is key to <Sneaky>'s plan for making easy money at the chess bookie game. |
| May-10-06 | | percyblakeney: Well, it was clearly a mistake not to keep betting on draws today... |
May-10-06
 | | WannaBe: I threw 3 bucks on Belarus, so that every country has a wager. =) In round 4, I have Carlsen, Malakhov, and draw in Nisipeanu vs Predojevic... |
May-10-06
 | | Chessgames Bookie: You can now wager on the 6th round of the Bosna Sarajevo tournament. Bosna Sarajevo Tournament: Rd6: Malakhov vs Carlsen
Bosna Sarajevo Tournament: Rd6: Predojevic vs Naiditsch
Bosna Sarajevo Tournament: Rd6: Sasikiran vs Nisipeanu |
| May-10-06 | | percyblakeney: The next round can be the third in a row with all draws, but this time I'll bet on Carlsen for a change. Predojevic just has to lose some game in this tournament... |
May-10-06
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Wagering is now open on the first round of the Mtel Masters tournament. Mtel Masters Rd1: Bacrot vs Anand
Mtel Masters Rd1: Ponomariov vs Kamsky
Mtel Masters Rd1: Svidler vs Topalov |
May-10-06
 | | WannaBe: Handicapping tool... According to <chessgames.com>'s database... Bacrot has not beaten Anand. search "bacrot vs anand" Pono and Kamsky have no games in database versus each other. Topalov leads Svidler +9 -7 =10
Good luck everybody!! =) |
| May-10-06 | | NakoSonorense: <<Sneaky>'s plan for making easy money at the chess bookie game.> Yes, since I read his post, I've lost ALL my bets! Thanks, <sneaky> :) |
| May-10-06 | | suenteus po 147: <NakoSonorense> That's odd. I've been steadily increasing my total due to his strategy, albeit slowly. |
May-10-06
 | | Sneaky: I've taken a beating with my own strategy lately... in fact now I'm below 1000 for the first time since the game began. It's starting to look like this leg just might be practice for me, and I can buckle down in the summer leg. Part of my problem lately is that I've simply not been keeping up with all of the available bets. Dr. Who mentioned that 21:1 strike he made. Wow! Had I seen a bet going down at 21:1 odds I surely would have put a little money on it. Never say "Grandmaster so-and-so has zero chance of winning this game." He's a GRANDMASTER for crying out loud!! So now I'm "short stacked" as they say in the poker world... but that can convey a weird kind of advantage in its own. My course of action has now become clear: gamble or die!! |
| May-10-06 | | refutor: <sneaky> topalov at 16:1 looks like a nice bet |
May-10-06
 | | Sneaky: Yeah... I wonder how long that will last. I'm going to bet on Topalov AND Svidler that game. I'm "laying the draw." |
May-10-06
 | | WannaBe: <Sneaky:...I'm going to bet on Topalov AND Svidler...> GO DRAW!!!!! (That's where my money is... =) |
