cu8sfan: <chessgames.com> Why does the betting for the individual games end one hour before betting for the overall winners? I'd think betting closes for both events when the games start. According to the official website games start at 12:30 UTC which would be three hours from now (http://www.mtelmasters06.com/ and http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo...).
May-11-06  percyblakeney: There's just too many games to bet on today, I don't know what to do :-)
May-11-06  naamloos: I have bet on almost all of them. A bad day today and I'm back to 2000. A good day and I could go to above 4000. As usual I've bet a whole lot on draws, especially on the topalov game.
May-11-06  Joshka: <Cu8sfan> I had the same question when I saw the time postings, they should be the SAME!?
May-11-06  Joshka: <Johnny York> Welcome to chessgames.com! Nice to have new folks kibitz! Congradulations on your success with the chessgames bookie as well!
May-11-06  percyblakeney: I finally decided to go for 500 on the draw in Svidler-Topalov, 200 on Ponomariov and 100 on Carlsen. Originally I only planned to bet on Pono and Carlsen, but the draw odds was huge in Svidler-Topalov so I couldn't resist...
May-11-06  acirce: I thought the odds on Svidler winning were huge. I put bets on:

Svidler-Topalov: Svidler
Pono-Kamsky: Ponomariov
Bacrot-Anand: Draw

Malakhov-Nisipeanu: Malakhov, Nisipeanu
Naiditsch-Sasikiran: Naiditsch
Predojevic-Carlsen: Carlsen

May-11-06  percyblakeney: The Svidler odds is astronomical, but I think it will be a draw...

cu8sfan: <acirce> I agree, odds against Topalov were huge! I hope he'll have his usual slow start.

If Topalov doesn't win today I'll be swimming in money. If he does win Loanshark will buy me a new pair of boots...

May-11-06  cavaleiro: Give us some wagering on the openings!!! Pleaaaaaaaaase!?

WannaBe: Handicapper's Corner For Round 2 of MTel.

Topalov vs Anand:
Combined Anand is +18 -11 =34, however, when Topalov have white pieces versus Anand, Topalov is +7 -6 =19

Kamsky vs Bacrot:
These 2 have only one game in the database, and Bacrot was playing white, and won. It was the 2006 Corus.

Svidler-Ponomariov:
Ponomariov leads overall with +1 -0 =8. When Svidler has white pieces, he is +0 -1 =3 against Ponomariov.

Good luck everybody!! =)

May-11-06  percyblakeney: I think I know what I will bet on this one with these odds :-))

WannaBe: <percyblakeney> Can't believe the draw pool in that Rd4: Topalov vs Kamsky. I'm gonna bet the farm on Topalov!!

Chessgames Bookie: Correctly pick all three results in round 2 of the Mtel masters tournament for big winnings.

Mtel Masters Rd2: Pick Three

May-11-06  RalphTheLiar: Yarr!
I am going all for the draw this time around, somehow I managed to put all my bets on draws, even in M-Tel... I was lucky today, everything worked for me. I gained about 1000 chessbucks, catapulting me into 8th.

cu8sfan: GREAT! Odds against Topalov were ridiculously high today. Chessgames Bookie tells me: <YOU WIN! COLLECT 1693>.
May-12-06  acirce: <TIME LEFT: 01:54:09> When I write this there should only be 54 minutes until the games begin.

cu8sfan: <acirce> Yeah, same problem yesterday. The official page says <Live coverage from 12:30 UTC> but games start at 11:30 UTC which is 12:30 GMT.
May-12-06  percyblakeney: My only bet for today is a small one on Malakhov. If I'd bet more it would be 50 on Naiditsch, 100 on Svidler, and 250 on draw in Kamsky-Bacrot, but I don't really believe in any result at the moment so I save my chessbucks for another round...

  cu8sfan: I'll wait until I've seen the opening before I place my bets... (-;

cu8sfan: Get rich now! Betting on today's MTel games hasn't been closed yet even though the games have already started.
May-12-06  percyblakeney: 8.50 on Malakhov isn't a bad odds, he is after all white against an almost 50 points lower rated player...
May-12-06  AdrianP: I borrowed 100 to try to do a last minute perfect placing bet on

Topper-Anand 0-1
Svidler-Pono 1-0
Kamsky-Bacrot 1/2

And I just missed the time deadline.

Boy will I be p***ed if Kamsky doesn't win his game....!

May-12-06  AdrianP: <chessbookie> and <everyone> I wonder whether there'd be any interest in a feature whereby you can sell your bets to other users at any time until a payout. For instance, I'm 100 chessbucks into Naiditsch whose trailing the Bosna tournament and is v. unlikely to win, but they're might be some kind soul who would think buy that action off me for 5 chessbucks.

It would also be kind of interesting during live games.

May-12-06  NakoSonorense: giantwizard is just crazy...
+16,000??? How does he do it?????
