Chessgames Bookie: I thought I fixed that "Kamnik" typo? But no, we're not going to split hairs over typos. Only if there was absolutely no way to tell which player was being referred to could you make an argument for a refund.

Anyhow, congratulations to those who cashed in at 153 to 1 odds with the BLACK-BLACK-DRAW pick three today. And for those who didn't, you can try again with Tal Memorial Round 6: PICK THREE. Good luck!

Jun-13-12  Ragh: Very unfamiliar territory for me now..

Its quite a bird's eye view up from "rolling high" here, in contrast to the cellar and basement views that I am used to.

Jun-13-12  brankat: Thank You!
Jun-13-12  dakgootje: Hey cat - top-10 now as well? :P

Roughly a double-up needed for first place. Hmm how to proceed.. Tactics are much easier when you are in the cellars ;)

Jun-13-12  brankat: <dakgootje> Yes, while we are at 1800-1900 bracket things seem to be much easier. Once You become a GM, all of a sudden it's much more competitive :-)
Jun-13-12  wordfunph: grrrrr...just like in chess, i'm poor playing the endgame.

homestretch time! all the best to all..

cheers to <brankat> <dakgoot> for hitting the P3 jackpot!

Jun-14-12  WinKing: The Tal Memorial has been kicking my a$$. Been putting too much faith in my man Aronian. Time for a change in tactics.
Jun-14-12  LDJ: Hmm... Going to lose some 400 chessbucks today while I was already at -577... Hope the loanshark will forgive me before the next leg starts :)
Jun-14-12  brankat: The Loanshark is Your best friend. He gives You just enough rope with which to hang Yourself :-)

moronovich: dear <Chessgames Bookie> Could we please have the pick-3 back !?..

After all this is the end of the leg and pick-3 is also an opportunity for the tailenders to make a comeback.

Jun-15-12  brankat: <Moronovich> The Bookie must be a friend of <Shakman>'s :-)
Jun-16-12  wordfunph: <CGBookie> FIDE Women Grand Prix round 5 posted as round 6.

round 5 games ended last night but betting still open :)

round 5 results:

http://kazan2012.fide.com/round-5-r...

Jun-16-12  brankat: I wondered about that. I was going to discard my tickets, since they all lost, only to find out I was given a second chance :-)
Jun-16-12  brankat: More importantly, is there a valid reason for Pick-3 to be discontinued, for both round 7 and 8, at the Tal Memorial? Thanks You.
Jun-16-12  dakgootje: Ah interesting - hadn't seen the pairings were actually for previous round.

Well - I would've made a c$ 223 loss :P

Jun-16-12  brankat: So lucky :-)
Jun-16-12  dakgootje: Hardly I'm afraid to say - invested therefore more in the Tal memorial games, where I had another exceptionally bad day. Short term variance is a female dog. :P

Ever since I hit that p-3 been very unlucky in almost all my bets. That said, I'm taking quite exceptional* risks - so big swings over only several games are to be expected.

*As in: exceptional for me. Not SQish-exceptional. I'd have to borrow 20k and have everything on the line every single round, to be able to have his kind of swings. ;D

Chessgames Bookie: <wordfunph: <CGBookie> FIDE Women Grand Prix round 5 posted as round 6. round 5 games ended last night but betting still open :) round 5 results: >

Our mistake. The rest day confused us and we relabeled all of the round 5 games as round 6 and opened up the betting again for a few hours. It's obvious that a lot of those betters had no idea that the games were already over, as they weren't all on winning tickets, but nevertheless the only proper thing to do is to give full refunds to that group.

Fortunately we have special software for just such occasions, so everything is made right at this point.

In summary:

• The fact that we mislabeled it as "Round 6" temporarily will not effect payoffs.

• All bets prior to the actual game-start will be honored.

• All bets made after the game start will be graded no-action and refunded in full.

Chessgames Bookie: Just what you need for a last-minute rocket to the top 10 list:

Tal Memorial Round 8: PICK THREE

and

Tal Memorial Round 9: PICK THREE

Note that the final round starts two hours earlier that the others (5:00am USA/Eastern time).

Good luck!

Chessgames Bookie: And two more proposition bets:

Tal Memorial Round Rd 8: EPIC GAME?

and

Tal Memorial Round Rd 9: EPIC GAME?

In these propositions, you win if any of the games on any of the boards lasts 100 moves (or not, depending on how you bet).

Good luck!

Jun-16-12  brankat: Good show Mr.Bookie! Thank You.
