 | | Sneaky: <Assa S. Sin 4,624> Quit your bellyaching! :) You really went from -1057 to +4624? Wow, YOU are the one having the Cinderella season! Poor Annie K, trying so hard to stay in the top 10 and a pack of hungry wolves is nipping at her heels! |
| Oct-01-12 | | dakgootje: No guts no glory!
It so happens I have been gutted today - but yeah.. perhaps I'll be glorious tomorrow ;) |
| Oct-02-12 | | Assa S. Sin: <You really went from -1057 to +4624? Wow, YOU are the one having the Cinderella season!> :)) Barely 400 to enter the 10K club in the Championship Leg! |
| Oct-02-12 | | TITIKIZA: chessgames bookie. this is unfair. why did you not close the leg when i was leading the board? |
Oct-02-12
 | | perfidious: <TITIKIZA> Next time, you need to offer them better than 11:10 as the juice. |
| Oct-02-12 | | wordfunph: <(10) wordfunph 6,193> cliffhanger :(
goodluck <all>! |
| Oct-02-12 | | technical draw: OK, big bettor. I took the bait. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Who you be? Is that you <dak>?? |
Oct-02-12
 | | Sneaky: I've made my bets and taken my chances. Praying for a kind of a small miracle but I think we just might see one. Sit back and see what happens. G/L all. |
| Oct-03-12 | | dakgootje: <Who you be? Is that you <dak>??> Hardly.
Someone crushed my odds though - so I'm out of the race ;) As it stands, there is a mighty small chance I make the top-10. On the other hand, my luck has been absolutely horrendous the last couple of rounds - so it's only a theoretical chance ;) |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: Okay, at about 9 pm EST, on 10-2, there were two 10k bets placed, one on Ivan-Hao to draw and the other on Mam-Leko to draw. This is very suspicious. Who even has 10k to bet -- on a single draw? And two people, to boot! What the heck is going on? |
| Oct-03-12 | | dakgootje: Considering the apparent promiximity with regards to time, I'd suppose it is the same person. Which really leaves 2 options: Barok Espinosa & JamesBJames. Either obviously needing some loan. Or perhaps voodoo^2 with a larger loan, but I doubt the pay-out is large enough for him to guarantee first place if he wins both [as of now, winning both bets nets roughly 6.6k]. I would've placed such large bets earlier on - but perhaps that's why I'm in the gutter ;D |
| Oct-03-12 | | Barok Espinosa: <London Grand Prix Rd 11: Giri-Topalov : Draw [info] 300 LIVE BET 3:7 1.43 429 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: Ivanchuk-Wang Hao : Wang Hao [info] 100 LIVE BET 7:1 7.79 779 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: Ivanchuk-Wang Hao : Ivanchuk [info] 100 LIVE BET 4:1 5.17 517 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: LONGEST GAME : Grischuk-Nakamura [info] 200 LIVE BET 3:1 4.14 828 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: LONGEST GAME : Ivanchuk-Wang Hao [info] 100 LIVE BET 5:1 5.98 598 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: LONGEST GAME : Giri-Topalov [info] 100 LIVE BET 8:1 8.97 897 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: Mamedyarov-Leko : Mamedyarov [info] 100 LIVE BET 8:1 8.81 881 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: Mamedyarov-Leko : Leko [info] 100 LIVE BET 12:1 13.03 1,303 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: PICK THREE : Draw-White-Draw [info] 100 LIVE BET 7:1 7.79 779 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: PICK THREE : Draw-Draw-Draw [info] 100 LIVE BET 3:1 4.11 411 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: SHORTEST GAME : Adams-DomÃnguez [info] 100 LIVE BET 11:2 6.54 654 Oct-03-12 London Grand Prix Rd 11: SHORTEST GAME : Giri-Topalov [info] 100 LIVE BET 15:2 8.28 828 Oct-03-1> I didn't bet that much. Anyways, I have a ticket for Mamedyarov to WIN!!! |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: But why would these guys risk everything? When they made the bets the payout was just a few grand? The only explanation I an think of is that they care only about first place, not top 10. Makes sense. Knowing this, I bet completely against he big numbers. That's the only way I'll be able to jump over them. I really messed up in round 10. |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: Now that BE claims he didn't bet that much, then who did? The only way I can win this thing now is the D-W-D ticket in the Pick 3. I've got my hopes on a Naka win. |
| Oct-03-12 | | Barok Espinosa: I have a hunch that Ivanchuk-Wang Hao will be a decisive game. If that is so, am sorry for them. |
| Oct-03-12 | | dakgootje: <The only way I can win this thing now is the D-W-D ticket in the Pick 3. I've got my hopes on a Naka win.> Naka winning would be a DBD - or are you hoping for a Sasha win? ;) |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: I meant D-B-D. Sorry. Nets me $13k, (minus my other pending losses, of course). |
| Oct-03-12 | | JamesBJames: C'mon London, let's see some good draws out there today. |
| Oct-03-12 | | JamesBJames: <The only explanation I an think of is that they care only about first place, not top 10> Yup. I thought the odds would converge a little more so one draw => top 10, two draws => 1st, but I might fall a little short if the former happens. |
| Oct-03-12 | | dakgootje: <I meant D-B-D. Sorry. > Ah - was already wondering, as I've got almost half the DWD-ticket. According to Herr Calculator, in the most ideal situation I'll manage 11k-ish. So that means I'm officially out of contention :( Ah well, better luck next leg. Going to try something different - so curious how autumn will work out :) |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: I've got most of the DBD ticket, so it's still anyone's game.... I, too, am looking for first. :) |
| Oct-03-12 | | technical draw: I bet 1200 on the big bettor games. I think I'm out at least 600 for now. |
| Oct-03-12 | | ChessWriter: This is what the Chess Bookie just told me: "GAME OVER INSERT 25 CENTS." |
| Oct-03-12 | | dakgootje: Yap, me too.
Which is a steal, I must say. Only 25 cents to pay off a 6k-loan. |
| Oct-03-12 | | JamesBJames: Awesome, all my bets paid off. Hope it's enough. |
