Sneaky: Good work Diademas. I was about to give up hope this leg until the pick three took me from rags to riches. Now the question for round 7 is this: what will become of Hammer-Carlsen?

1. Carlsen will win, because... well duh, he's CARLSEN.

2. Carlsen and Hammer will have a little draw between good old friends. And plus, Hammer is no patzer. If he can beat Wang Hao he can draw Magnus.

3. Hammer--having been Carlsen's second and knowing his opening prep inside and out--discovered a whole in previous analysis and will beat his friend with a nasty opening surprise.

Like most of you, I think #1 will be the reality but I do believe that outcome #2 is not being given the credence that it's worth.

Chnebelgrind: I could work out of the cellar with an approach who already earlier proved successfully in desperate situations, especially in tournaments where each result is possible: I increased all pools in Pick-3 with small stakes to 70. There were only 13 bucks on white-black-white. So I added 57 and got a win of 3500:-)

When does the <SUMMER> <LEG> begin? With next week's Tal Memorial?

Thanks

SwitchingQuylthulg: <notyetagm> Let's wrap up the Spring Leg first :)

Summer Leg will probably start in late June or early July.

Jun-06-13  brankat: It's still a bit too early to wrap up the Spring Leg :-)

  Chessgames Bookie: Rule of thumb:

Winter leg = Jan, Feb, Mar

Spring leg = Apr, May, Jun

Summer leg = Jul, Aug, Sep

Fall leg = Oct, Nov, Dec

Those dates aren't firm but we try to stick to that, depending on what the chess calendar looks like. The Tal Memorial will probably be the final event of this leg.

Jun-07-13  notyetagm: <Chessgames Bookie: Rule of thumb:>

Thanks for the info.

Jun-07-13  technical draw: I hate it when that fat guy says I'm groveling for chump change. It's true but I don't like it.
Jun-12-13  brankat: How long after the games are finished (Tal Mem. Blitz ended 4 hours ago), and the results TBA, does it take for them TBA? :-)

Chessgames Bookie: It's official: The Tal Memorial is the final event of this leg.

Also here's some fun for Monday's live broadcast game: Tal Memorial rd 4: Caruana Nakamura OVER/UNDER 43?

Chessgames Bookie: There was a typo in the description of the OVER/UNDER. It should (and now does) read:

<Will the Caruana-Nakamura game last for 43 moves or more? If Caruana plays his <<<43nd>>> move, the OVER ticket will win. Otherwise, the UNDER ticket pays.>

Chessgames Bookie: <<<43nd>>> Derrrr, I meant 43rd (as in "thiRD" and not "secoND"). You get the idea. It's move 43.

Chessgames Bookie: Corrected pick three is now online, sorry about that.

<ChessWriter> I checked the logfiles for you; perhaps it was a finger slip but I only see your chessbucks placed on Nakamura to win.

Sneaky: I noticed somebody out there has taken to tossing 5 bucks on every single pick three option. I don't know who you are, but I'd like to say, that's a good strategy. Usually you'll lose money but when something whacky happens you'll cash in. I hit some nutty White-Black-White back in round 3 that way. Turned the whole game around for me.
