 | | Annie K.: Yes, see rule 13.2. ;)
<For betting purposes, the winner of an event will be determined on the date of the event's conclusion. The Chessgames Bookie does not recognize suspended games, protests, scoring amendments, result reversals and overturned decisions for wagering purposes. The official winner at the conclusion of a game shall be the winner for betting purposes.> |

Apr-11-15
 | | Penguincw: Well played <Switch>. I thought U.S. Championship rd 10: Robson-Nakamura: SHORTEST DRAW? was a sure "NO" (yet only bet 50 on it), and here I see my last hope, Akobian, play 31.Bxc7 to ruin everything. Just hoping the game doesn't go to a triple digit move number... |

Apr-12-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Betting on the final round of the U.S. Championships and U.S. Women's Championships is now open. Apologies for the delay; my Internet connection was down for the whole of last evening and most of this morning. Many thanks to my little helpers for settling all the round 10 markets for me! |

Hi Switch.. (or whoever the new Bookie is!?) .. I just wondered if this table is correct because it goes 1,2,3,5,6, others, missing out on 4. If 4 players tie does the other ticket pay? |
|
Apr-14-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <MarkFinan> "4" was omitted on purpose; if you do the math, you'll find it's essentially impossible for exactly four players to tie for first. (I think the only way it could happen is if there's a double forfeit on one of the top boards, with both players scoring zero.) In that very unlikely case the "OTHER" ticket will indeed pay. |
|
| Apr-14-15 | | MarkFinan: Okay, thank you. I didn't realize that. |
|
| Apr-14-15 | | WinKing: <lostemperor> will hold his prediction contest for the Gashimov Memorial if enough members sign up. Just wanted to let you all know. :) See: lostemperor chessforum for details. |
|
| Apr-15-15 | | centralfiles: How are you going to know how many moves were played in the short-ikeda game? |
|
Apr-15-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <centralfiles> That's a good question; in fact, I had already decided not to open that market because of that very concern, but somehow forgot about it. In any case, TWIC has the games from boards 7-10 for every round so far, even though they weren't part of the live broadcast; I'm hopeful they'll appear for round 5 as well, even if there's a slight delay. If not, and if we can't find out the number of moves through any other means, I will refund all bets on that market before the Gashimov Memorial starts. |
|
Apr-15-15
 | | Penguincw: Woo hoo! I went 5/5 today. :)

Apr-16-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <If not, and if we can't find out the number of moves through any other means, I will refund all bets on that market before the Gashimov Memorial starts.> Thankfully, that was not necessary; TWIC has the game now. Short won in 39 moves. |
