Sneaky: I asked my Magic 8-Ball if Arkadi will do well at Dortmund. The answer came back: "Outlook good." So there you have it folks. Bet against Naiditsch at your own peril.

Penguincw: Stunning. Looking at Dortmund rd 1: PICK THREE, no one put money on WWW, WWB or DWW (the latter came close to happening). Also, WWD, BWW and BWB were potential jackpots. In the end, the winning P3 (DWD), pays 309:1 odds!

Penguincw: (continues with more complaining/ranting that should be disregarded)

I can't believe this ticket lost!

Dortmund rd 2: BENDER'S OPENING DOUBLE : Both [discard ticket] 25 LOSE 4:5 1.80 -- Jun-28-15

I then looked at the games, and I see Caruana played 1.Nf3 and <THEN> 2.e4. What kind of sorcery is this?

FSR: <Penguincw> Tell me about it!!! What a dirty trick!! It may be a <harmless transposition> to him, but it's disaster to us! Many more cbs down the toilet today. I also bet on Hou Yifan to draw. My moment in the sun (slightly) is rapidly fading.
Jun-30-15  centralfiles: <chessbookie> Don't know if it was oversight but the longest game bet was not paid.
Jun-30-15  MarkFinan: A crowe just a swarmed above me 3 times. Is swarmed even a real word? Anyways.. This crow just swarmed above me 3 times before the local vicar, a law professor who I once beat blindfold in 4 moves, said worshippingly "Achilles Jeremiah! The GODS!!!!! are against even... YOU!!!" No (more) money shall thee wager, Pensacolious depends on YOUR!!appearances in The Goldblood ring I beg you YOUR WORSHIP!!!" so... I cease from betting until further notice.

Honestly..I'll just spend it all on the last day instead, I ended up with around 7000 last time.

Chessgames Bookie: <centralfiles> I intentionally delayed paying off Dortmund rd 3: LONGEST GAME because there were some problems with the live broadcast and I wasn't sure whether the game scores I was seeing were complete. Since the longest game (Kramnik-Nepo) was exactly 55 moves, even one missing pair of moves could have changed everything.

This is standard procedure in such cases; delaying a payoff is very easy, whereas fixing a mistaken payoff is a complicated process that would inconvenience not only me but also Daniel Freeman and any number of players. I know delaying the payoff also inconveniences some players, but it's the lesser of two evils.

http://www.sparkassen-chess-meeting... now indicates that Kramnik-Nepo was indeed 55 moves and Meier-Caruana was 51 moves; that's good enough for me.

Jun-30-15  centralfiles: Thanks
Actually was wondering if it was intentional.

  Chessgames Bookie: ♔♔ ANNOUNCEMENT ♔♔

The Spring Leg will end on Sunday, July 5, with the top 10 players qualifying for the Championship Leg (and the winner receiving free Chessgames premium membership).

At this point, anyone can still make it - even if you're deep in the cellar, don't give up hope. This is the ChessBookie Game; miracles happen.

Good luck for the final days, and have fun!

Penguincw: Watch when <Bookie> opens up another one of those bets for R6. You and I will bet on anything <but> 1.e4. Guess what Caruana will <then> play.
Jul-01-15  MarkFinan: D<ortmund rd 4: 72 CAPTURES? : 71 captures or under [discard ticket] 1000 LOSE>

You'll never know how much money I had on today's games, but if Kramnik can just go ahead and draw I'm okay. I'm going on holiday in a few days so I won't be betting but I know this leg's coming to an end.

Jul-01-15  MarkFinan: Excuse me one second.

ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO.

So why do you call him (And very very very cleverly too might I add) ... "Drawnik?"

Penguincw: < For the purposes of this bet, the "latest castling" is determined based on the move number, not time; thus, if So plays 16.0-0 two minutes into his game... >

Lol, So must be a really fast player. :)

< MarkFinan: ... So why do you call him (And very very very cleverly too might I add) ... "Drawnik?" >

Kramnik is anything but "Drawnik" this tournament: 4 games played, 4 games decisive. Same for Naiditsch.

But anyway, welcome to the club of "betting huge money on sure bets, and losing". Hoping your stay isn't long.

Don't give up though. There are still a few days to recover. You at least use basic logic when betting; I'm under the belief that betting 25 cbs on games can get me back to the leaderboard.

Jul-02-15  MarkFinan: <I'm under the belief that betting 25 cbs on games can get me back to the leaderboard.>

That's what messed me up. Little bets, long shots etc etc. This time I've done exactly what I did last time around, put all my funds on and borrowed 2000 from the loanshark and put that on too. I can't lie though, if I miss out after being top ten for all of the leg I'll be gutted.

Jul-03-15  MarkFinan: I've had over 2000 on Winnik, Drawnik, and now <TODAY> of all days he turns into Losenik. Whoever called this dude Drawnik needs shooting in the headnik!!!

ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Jul-03-15  MarkFinan: And Nispy drew, I had 800 on that dude to win. Nispynik? Lol.
Jul-03-15  MarkFinan: And over 600 on the castling bet, which I bet on 3 of the 4 outcomes. Obviously the wrong ticket paid, I mean C'mon how unlucky can a ninja get. If I didn't laugh I'd cry.

Anyway, I'm off on holiday (on a plane lol) abroad. #Harryism
