I think I'm safe now, I think 6100+ is beyond 11th place for someone in this leg. But.. Because Naiditch (That's probably spelt wrong) looked like actually <winning> at one point, I cashed in the funds I had, thinking I'd gone bust, and put 1000 on a few 'unreliable' looking wagers.

What's the most anyone's ever won from say... 50 cb's on a p3?

Jul-03-15  centralfiles: Sorry mark that's no record for 50 on a p3.
I had about 35 on this one too. Let's wait and see how much <moron> had on it he might've cashed in big catching me, I'm waiting for update.

Jul-03-15  MarkFinan: Can we update the table, Switch? Please. Just want to see if I'm safe.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <MarkFinan> Unfortunately, I don't have an "update leaderboard" button; only Daniel Freeman can manually trigger a leaderboard update.

(This is because computing the leaderboard is a pretty heavy task for CG's computers and thus can't be done too often. I once suggested an improved update system that would give me such a button, allow me to time the updates better, and still reduce the overall computational load; but that system hasn't been implemented yet, presumably because the admins have been too busy dealing with other issues.)

Jul-04-15  MarkFinan: <centralfiles: Sorry mark that's no record for 50 on a p3. I had about 35 on this one too>

You're more than safe now Fiddy, well done. But I am interested in the record for 50 cb's on a P3 if anyone knows.

Switch.. I think updating the table is the last thing on Daniel's mind, but at least it gets done on the day of the games. And because I went for broke and borrowed 2000 from the loanshark, I forgot to pay the money back yesterday and he took a 100 cb's or something in interest. Also putting money on today's games yesterday before the last round had even finished could prove to be a costly mistake.

My personal best was 13.5 K for 75 bucks.

Jul-04-15  MarkFinan: Wow. And I thought 3k was a nice touch! Off the top of my head I can't figure out the odds, but it was certainly better than my 46/1 with 63 cb's.

moronovich: Yeah, and the final game was clinched by your countryman Adams(vs Caruana) !
Jul-04-15  MarkFinan: So it's not that long ago then? I can only recall Adams beating Caruana once and I think it was this year. My bets yesterday that I thought were risky seemed to be paying off, depending on the Kramnik game I could be over 7000. I think I've done enough to qualify and I'm happy with that. Next time I'll be numero uno, lol.

moronovich: Around 3 years ago-last round.Caruana was white.

And today grrrr Kramnik only draws and a win would have been 18K in the standings - so now goodbye to chances for first place ):

Jul-04-15  MarkFinan: Kramnik looks like he's thrown away the win. I should still be around 6900 though.

Sneaky: Arkadi ... you let me down. :-(

This is that weird day in the leg when the odds stop making any sense whatsoever. Nobody wants to bet on a draw because everybody needs to double-up or triple-up. Look at that pick three, about 500 bucks on every option. You can't even get good odds on triple-black!

Jul-05-15  MarkFinan: <Chessgames Bookie: Brought to you today by Daniel Freeman - extra leaderboard update! One time only!>

I missed it but thanks anyway Daniel.

Sneaky.. What's happened? You've fallen at the final hurdle. Just go for it, put all your funds and borrow money from the loanshark (You should still get 1500) and put that on too, you've nothing to lose and everything to gain.

eternaloptimist: Did u guys notice the announcement? "The end of the leg is afoot!" :D Get it? The end of the leg is afoot (a foot)...leg...foot. I think it's clever 8 )

Sneaky: <The end of the leg is afoot> Haha, that pun went by me. Very funny.

<Mark> I already went all-in. The loanshark won't give me any more money until next leg. I can still make a little bit more if there's an en passant capture but I won't be on the leaderboard this leg.

Oh well, no guts no glory. I'm already qualified so I'm not sweating it.

Jul-06-15  wordfunph: too close :(

  chessgames.com: Chessbookie Fans!

Give us just a little time to check the logfiles and we'll confirm that the leaderboard is correct by tomorrow afternoon.

The new leg should start in just a few days, with User: Penguincw being your next bookmaker. As we've done in the past, we'll spend a day or two making practice bets so he can have some hands on experience.

Talk to you tomorrow, and good luck with the Summer Leg!

Jul-06-15  wordfunph: great thanks to <Switch> and all the best to <Penguin>, CG Bookie rocks!

Penguincw: Yes all, I will be running the Bookie leg this summer (one year after <Switch> started to do this). Now I know some of you may be "surprised" to see a person who has never qualified for the Championship before run a ChessBookie leg, but I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think I could. :)

The preseason I hope will start tonight (I have every preseason move planned, and this includes some bets for tomorrow), and it may be a bit longer than normal preseasons, but I'm going to assume that some of you need time to transition from the North Pole to the South Pole (very bipolar, I know).

More details soon (but gotta run).
