Aug-16-15  sydbarrett: Penguin did the Riga Open end yet? I think it did, but the WINNER bet for it has been left unsettled.

Penguincw: Oh, it did. Sorry about that. Looking at the results, "Shirov" and "OTHER" will pay. It looks like all of the top 7 players made it to R1, so I don't have to refund anything. :)

  Chessgames Bookie: ♔ ANNOUNCEMENT ♔

A special day is coming up. According to Wikipedia, on this date in history 95 years ago (August 18th, 1920), the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified, giving women in all states the right to vote (but I see ratification started as early as 1919).

Here in the ChessBookie game, I tend to like to celebrate positive historical events (although I don't think anyone ever reads them). So, on Tuesday, August 18th, 2015, in celebration of so, I'm going to make all R9 bets in favour of the ladies.

So, on that day, instead of the men's tournament being the main bets and the women's tournament being the side show, it'll be the reverse. Be sure to take advantage of this day - it might not happen again this leg.

In other news, I see that my strategy of putting out 4 bets may be a boring one, but it seems to be working in generating the most chessbucks. Hmm.

Oh, and more Sinquefield Cup bets are coming soon. The tournament won't start for a week, but I see that bets that last longer tend to have more interest.

FSR: For the "Select All That Apply" bet, if all games are drawn will "All of the Above" be the only line that pays, or will every line including that one pay?

Good point (I knew I was forgetting something). "All of the Above" will be the only one that pays.

FSR: Svidler got Karjaked. I bet on "Draw," of course.
Aug-18-15  MarkFinan: Well Fred. Remember that I said my sole mission in life is to place higher than you in this leg? Well unless you've had the same day I have I'll be above you.

C'mon Frederick. Step up your bookie game, lol.

Aug-18-15  MarkFinan: <FSR: Ovod-Gunina was a Slav, so "YES" wins>

Wrong move order though Fred. After today I'll be calling you <LSR>, Lol.

I'm only joking with you Fred.

Aug-18-15  sydbarrett: Too bad there weren't many Russian men's bets available today. There's been lots of money on "DRAW" lately, and I like to take advantage of that by taking very long odds on "WHITE" and "BLACK." There were 5 victories today and only 1 draw, at least when I last checked. Aye, tis a pity.

Aug-18-15  MarkFinan: And where is Frederick??? "You only sing when you're winning, sing when you're winning... You only sing when you're winning!"
