Penguincw: < pitapino: The odds displayed are the odds that would pay <if> only <one> bet wins, this bet will have 4 winners. This might be a better explanation than 'prepare for multi-payoffs'.. but I get it now. >

Alright, I'll do that from now on (assuming I will actually put out those kinds of bets).

But I am surprised they created no problems in the past.

<FSR>, <Switch>

Thanks for updating me on that bet.

BTW: Guys, I see some matches are already set for R4 (ex. Ding Liren - Wei Yi, a compatriot bet). Do you guys know the colouration? I want to try to set up a P4 today, and give it as much time as possible to grow. In fact, I already see that 4 matches are set for R4...

I guess I can always do a lottery system (ex. pick the result of G2 between Player 1 and Player B).

Sep-18-15  MarkFinan: <ERROR : The outcome/event you have selected is invalid>

What's up this time?? Just tried to place a bet and got that.

Sep-18-15  MarkFinan: It works now so no worries.

FSR: Topalov, So, Andreikin, and Svidler win in the first set of rapid matches to advance. Since Andreikin beat Kramnik, that decides the Topalov versus Kramnik bet in Topalov's favor.

FSR: Bookie, it looks like you've forgotten to pay off the World Cup R3: Ukraine - Russia Daily Double, which was won by Eljanov-Jakovenko. If you're so inclined, you can also declare as lost the bets made on Gelfand, Grischuk, Aronian, and Kramnik to win the tournament.

FSR: Naka and MVL both won their third rapid game, so Nepo and Tomashevsky are in a do-or-die situation.
Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: Any tiebreaks Frederico??

FSR: Wow, Nepo lost a drawn ending by hanging a piece to a tactic.

FSR: <MarkFinan> Svidler beat Radjabov, So beat Le Quang Liem, and Andreikin beat Kramnik in the first set of rapid games. As I mentioned, Naka and MVL both won their third rapid game, so Nepo and Tomashevsky both must win if they are to stay in the competition. Adams and Dominguez are still even-steven going into the fourth rapid game.

FSR: MVL won again, so Tomashevsky is out.

FSR: Nepo won to tie it up, so it's on to blitz. Also on to blitz for Dominguez and Adams, who drew again.
Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: Just caught the last few rushed moves of the Nakamura game. Looked interesting.

But today the Empire completely crushed the rebellion. I had two dodgy looking losing 500 cb wagers. I'm feeling tempted by the dark side but we all know the rule about only two sith can live at once, so Chebly and Sithwitch need to be alert during the Championship leg.... Where I'll take a Sith's place. I'm off to float on my head and lift rocks up using only my mind, over at Yoda's place, peace out.

Lol.

Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: I don't understand the format of this tournament, where's Adams?! I only see 3 games on the chess24 app, when I flick back through the last Adams game was played a previous round and it was drawn.

FSR: Naka lost the first blitz game. Now <he's> the one in a must-win situation. Dominguez is in the same boat, having lost the first game to Adams.

It's a knockout tournament.

But yeah, I've tried to access <cg> via. mobile whenever I can, but can't, for 2 reasons:

1) A couple of weeks ago, I got into the bad habit of charging my phone without draining all the battery first, and now if I use wi-fi for longer than 3 minutes, it powers off.

2) Even if I <could> access the site, the only reliable site to view the results is chess24, but it's like impossible to view on mobile. I could always do something like chessdom, but they nearly screwed me over this leg, and I'm not about to take that risk again.

Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: Then why isn't this showing up on the chess24 App? It shows every game live usually on there, I still can't find the Adams game(s)! And what phone do you use Pengerz? I'm obsessed with phones, I'm always buying them (I won't say where lol) using them for a few weeks to get a feel, then selling them on. Only Android though, I don't like the Iphones. So far out of all the phones I've owned the S5 or the HTC One M8 are my favourite, certainly the ones I kept for myself but the battery life is poor on HTC's. I haven't got my hands on an S6 or M9... Yet.
Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: Can't believe I had over 3000 on just that round and I still break more or less even. Good job "The English Kramnik" as someone once called him, won. Funds unlimited (well 4k +) and I still can't get out of the dungeon! I still think I'll place top 20 because anything can happen, but when does the leg end Mr Bookie? If I've got the rest of this month and plenty of games and P3's and 4's to bet on it's possible. Fred you darent bet anything now, in football terms it's called 'Parking the bus'. A few of you do it. I just want y'all to know that I went all in on the last day of betting in the leg I qualified from. Ain't none of y'all got the CAHONES (Thats how it's pronounced Frederico) to do that..

Chessgames Bookie: < MarkFinan: ... but when does the leg end Mr Bookie? >

That's a very good question. My initial plan was to make it on Monday, October 5th, the day that tiebreaks (if necessary) will be played in the finals. If there are no games played on that day, I'll finish with some TPEC game.

However, do I really want computer vs. computer games to finish the leg?

I emailed <cg>, and he said I should make the last day simply on the last of the World Cup, <no matter what>. I like that idea, as it adds extra suspense.

But do you guys really want that? Not knowing when the last day of a leg will be?

However, out of the 5 World Cups so far, 4 ended with Game 4, and one went into tiebreaks.

So that's your answer: the leg will end the same day as the World Cup.

Knowing it will be the last day of the World Cup is good enough - as long as we'll know well in advance whether, in case the final goes to tiebreaks, you will open betting on the result of the tiebreaks or not.

Sep-19-15  WinKing: You've still got one bet to clear up 'book'. Kramnik is gone, history, kaputski.

Yes, I will open a bet on whether or not there will be tiebreaks. I'll open one before the finals start, and maybe even one during the finals.

< WinKing >

(I always forget something)

But thank you, I've paid it off. As a Topalov fan, I approve of it (but still, I feel like Kramnik was gone too soon).

Anyway, I'm going to put up some R4 bets now. I also want to open up the P4, as the colours are announced. However, I'm scared that it might change.

Here's what I'll do: I'm going to assume on chess24 (online), the player listed on top will have white in G1. I'm going to open up a P4 for G2 of 4 matches, no matter what the colour is. Bet at your own risk...

Not what I meant.

What I meant was: supposing the final <does> go to tiebreaks, will you open a new bet (after game 4 is over) on which player will win the tiebreak?

Of course I will. :) I may open some more bets as well.

Sep-19-15  MarkFinan: I'd much prefer the leg end on October the 4th. It gives me time to rearrange my finances, lol. I seriously think if there's enough bets I can still make it, I have the funds and don't have to rely on the loanshark anymore. The usual suspects are worried, and of course they aren't putting large amounts on now, especially Frederick.
