Sep-23-15  sydbarrett: Oh yes. You start first by calculating the losing money. I did not think of that first step. And this how I like to think of it...Each of the, say, four winners get an equal share, and your proportional ownership of each winner decides how much of the fourth you get. Do I have it correct?
Sep-23-15  sydbarrett: Question... for Daily Double 2, is portion "2." solved from today's action (draw), and portion "1." (Nakamura-Eljanov) actually game 2 of their match-up which will be played tomorrow? I am guessing that we are honoring the "white-black" order in which your bets are written.

Uh, yes.

Yes, in the order I posted them. Since G2 is known, the winner of this bet will be <something>-Draw. To be determined tomorrow.

Those who don't have any money on a possible winning result, well, yeah. But those who have <something>-Draw I imagine may not be able to wait until tomorrow. :)

Sep-23-15  MarkFinan: I have 175 on WD <and> DD. If Nakamura and Karjakin win tomorrow I'll be able to pay off the mortgage. If they lose it'll no doubt be a race between Wally TR and me to see who can finish with the bigger negative balance, lol.

Penguincw: Hey <FSR>, how'd you do here: World Cup R5,G2: Nakamura - Eljanov Third Move?

FSR: <Penguin> I thought I had things covered pretty well with bets on 3.Nc3, 3.Bb5, and 3.d4, but failed to foresee 3.Bg2!
Sep-24-15  sydbarrett: Mass draws today when all asked for was just a little blood. I'm gonna get cleaned up today... I'll be cooling off from this game for a while. You won't have Syd to kick around anymore.
Sep-24-15  MarkFinan: *waves hand* Jedi never quits, Sydney. Strong the force is with you. Summon Pengerz for the betting slips, you must.

Ah, a very interesting bet for sure. I guess it can't hurt to put up a computer vs. computer game. I'm planning to put one or two up for the Rest Day, but practicing closing times now couldn't hurt. :)

FSR: Karjakin wins tiebreak Game 3 against Mamedyarov. Wei Yi and Svidler keep drawing.
Sep-25-15  Beholder: <FSR: Wei Yi and Svidler keep drawing.>

Lots of drawing (not to be confused with drawing of lots).

Came out okay in the end: as long as Svidler obtained an advantage from the opening (which was every time), Wei drew, but once Svidler figured that out and got a crappy position from the opening Wei was dumbfounded and Svidler nailed him.

I think it's safe to say I took a beating this round!

Sep-25-15  sydbarrett: I want to thank Fred. His "3rd move" bet was one of the few that actually won me money lately. I like robots. I would not mind betting money on robots. I still have Karjakin as finals winner from the two-week-old bet. He will win me 9000. You best all beware. That bet cannot and WILL NOT BE STOPPED
Sep-25-15  sydbarrett: Start a new leg will soon. Experience I gained as noob from this leg will spare no one here
Sep-25-15  sydbarrett: Quaghog you may have a comfortably lead, but I want to warn you... Karjakin has a Soviet-era AK-47 and he is hurting opponents... he is crazy and may hurt you for 9000... he is a wild animal
Sep-25-15  sydbarrett: I bet only on Wei Yi-Karjakin for double bet. My advocacy of Wei Yi here is no secret. But Svidler is powerful war vet. I should have bet a bit on Svidler-Karjakin as well as break-even bet. One of many small mistakes I will learn from

Penguincw: Oh sorry guys, forgot to put out the rest of the bets, along with tomorrow's bets. I should probably work on them soon (or at least before I go to sleep).

However, it already looks like the bets I have up now are doing well...

Sep-26-15  WinKing: <sydbarrett: I should have bet a bit on Svidler-Karjakin as well as break-even bet. One of many small mistakes I will learn from>

The reason you didn't is called *greed*. We are all victims here at one time or another. ;)

Penguincw: Hmm, I was going to put out more bets, but I don't think there's enough time anymore, so I'll leave it as so.

Good luck everyone!

FSR: Giri is trying to mate Svidler somehow, but the computers say that Giri's position is just falling apart.

FSR: Wow, Eljanov has some real winning chances against Karjakin. Go Eljanov go!
